Volvo EX90

Upon entering the Volvo EX90, you are greeted by a Scandinavian-themed cabin, which looks and feels very cozy and luxurious–representing the brand’s living room philosophy. This SUV comes with cinema-style seats that are plush and very ergonomic even on long trips. You have plenty of room for seven passengers inside the cabin thanks to its flat-floor architecture. And, on top of this, you get an expansive trunk space at the back. 

Upfront, the driver is treated to a high-tech cockpit, which consists of a 9-inch instrument display, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with multiple controls, and a 13.2-inch head-up display. The Volvo EX90’s design displays a combination of modern elements and design cues that resemble that of the ICE-powered XC90. Upfront, it sports a dynamic shield fascia, which replaces Volvo’s classic black grille. Similar to its ICE-powered predecessor, it also features the brand’s iconic “Thor’s Hammer” LED DRLs with slim LED headlights. Volvo claims that its LED lighting is designed to mimic natural sunlight.

Meanwhile, its side profile looks robust and elegant at the same time. Its silhouette is defined by sharp character lines, chrome accents, and dynamic-looking 20-inch alloy wheels. Its flush door handles also add a futuristic touch to its overall appearance on the road. 

Moreover, its modern electric character is also consistent with its rear design, complemented by C-shaped LED taillights, which give it a distinct look at night. It also flaunts additional pixelated-looking brake light strips on each side.

Like its all-electric cousin, the ES90, the Volvo EX90 also comes with an air suspension. It handles sharp turns or corners quite well for a full-size SUV. It also boasts impressive absorption of bumps and other road imperfections. And, despite its weight, it is light and agile to maneuver inside and outside the city.

Powering the Volvo EX90 is a dual-motor setup, which delivers 408 hp and 770 Nm of torque. Its motors are powered by a 111-kWh high-voltage battery pack that offers a 624-km driving range. Using a DC fast charger, its battery can be replenished from 10% to 80% in approximately 22 minutes. This SUV comes mated to a single-speed automatic transmission system and utilizes an all-wheel drivetrain.

The EX90 delivers instantaneous power off the line. It is smooth and can go from 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.9 seconds, which is impressive for a full-size SUV. It makes light work of quick overtakes on free-flowing highways. And, on top of this, its cabin’s NVH suppression system is superb. That said, this car delivers great efficiency and impeccable refinement on the road.

The EX90 boasts outstanding safety thanks to Volvo’s Safe Space Technology, which includes a 360-degree view camera (Driver Understanding System), 12 ultrasonic sensors, 8 high-resolution cameras, and 5 radars. In terms of braking, this SUV comes with front and rear ventilated discs.
