Hongqi reveals four-car lineup in PH, opens flagship dealership in BGC

MANILA: Hongqi has officially started its business in the Philippines with the unveiling of its four-car lineup.

The initial roster of the Chinese premium automotive marque (which is under the FAW Group) is made up of the E-HS9, E-QM5, H5, and H9. 

Hongqi’s Philippine-retailed models were revealed during the inauguration of the brand’s flagship dealership located at the ground floor of Asian Century Center in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

The Chinese premium brand’s dealership is a stone-throw away to Weltmeister’s showroom. To note, the two marque’s offerings are being distributed by EvoXTerra Incorporated.

In a statement, the EvoXTerra said that the newest automotive brand’s entry into the Philippine market signifies its “profound commitment to offering diverse mobility solutions to cater to a broad spectrum of preferences and needs.”

“As a brand deeply rooted in tradition yet ceaselessly innovating for the future, Hongqi introduces a captivating blend of battery electric and petrol-powered vehicles. This dual approach ensures that customers can choose from a range of cutting-edge, eco-conscious electric models or indulge in the classic sophistication and performance of petrol-powered vehicles. Whether one seeks the quiet efficiency of electric driving or the exhilaration of traditional combustion engines, Hongqi's diverse fleet promises to deliver a driving experience that transcends expectations,” the firm said.

Below are some initial details about Hongqi’s local roster:

E-HS9

Spearheading the marque’s local debut is the E-HS9. The fully electric sport utility vehicle offers a luxurious cabin layout, 6/7 seat layout, large capacity batteries from CATL and is powered by dual motors with all-wheel-drive setup. The mill can deliver almost 215 horsepower.

On paper, the vehicle’s range can go up to more than 441 kilometers (km) — depending on the trim chosen. Here, the Hongqi E-HS9 is offered in three variants namely Executive, Deluxe, and Flagship.

E-QM5

Another new energy vehicle offering from Hongqi, the E-QM5 luxury sedan is propelled by a Permanent magnet synchronization motor that has a peak churn of nearly 188 hp.

Fitted with a lithium iron phosphate battery system, the Hongqi can cover 431 kilometers (based on New European Driving Cycle standards).

H5

One of the two internal combustion engines-equipped models under Hongqi, the H5 has two gasoline powertrain options: 1.5 liter and 2.0 liter —both equipped with turbos. Maximum churn could reach 221 hp and 340 Nm of torque.

The said model is being retailed in five options: 1.5T Basic, 2.0T Standard, 2.0T Comfortable, 2.0T Deluxe, 2.0T Flagship.

H9

Lastly, the Hongqi H9 flagship sedan is being sold in two turbo-gasoline powertrain selections: 2.0-liter and 3.0-liter. The output can go as high as 241 horses and 380 Nm.

The five variants of the Hongqi H9 are the following:

• 20.T Standard
• 20.T Comfortable
• 20.T Deluxe
• 3.0T Deluxe
• 3.0T Flagship
