Hyundai Creta to make its debut in the Philippines at MIAS 2017

MANILA: Hyundai is already gaining a lot of appreciation in the country with its current lineup and now this South Korean automaker is gearing up to extend its offerings. Yes, at the upcoming MIAS 2017, Hyundai will present its B-Segment crossover, Creta in the market. Though the company has not confirmed anything on the car’s name but, it has released a teaser image, which indicates that the car will be Creta.

Considering the design of Hyundai Creta, the front is dominated by three slats horizontal chrome grille and a pair of sleek and sharp headlights. The side profile gets 17-inch diamond cut alloys which not only adds to the sporty profile of the car but, also improves the road-hugging capability of the compact SUV. As Creta is tagged as urban SUV by the manufacturer, the rear design is quite sophisticated and lack any sort of rugged appeal.

In the cabin, black color dominates while beige color combination runs of the dash and door pads to give it a plush appeal. At the center, a 7-inch touch screen In-car entertainment system with navigation is equipped while Bluetooth, USB or Aux inputs are added for other media support. Features like automatic climate control, steering mounted controls, and structured instrument cluster are standard across all the variants.

This urban SUV will be manufactured in the Indian plant and the Philippines model is likely to get the same features as the Indian models. Engine options might include a 1.6-litre VTVT which is also found in the already existing Hyundai Accent with 123 PS maximum power and 151 Nm peak torque. The diesel options will include a 1.4-litre CRDi which makes 90 PS maximum power and 220 Nm peak torque whereas, the larger 1.6-litre CRDi makes 128 PS maximum power and 260 Nm peak torque.
