Inchcape names McAllister as new country head for PH

MANILA: Inchcape has appointed Robert McAllister as its country head for the Philippines.

He succeeds Alex Hammett, who was the concurrent managing director for South Asia and the Pacific prior to the appointment.

In a statement, Inchcape Philippines said McAllister brings “strong international automotive leadership experience across OEM, distribution, and retail businesses, with a track record in transformation, operational performance, and multi-market growth.”

He joined Inchcape from Al-Futtaim Automotive, where he held senior roles in enterprise performance transformation and international markets.

Prior to that, he held leadership positions at Volkswagen Group and Ford Motor Company, working in the United Kingdom, Malaysia, and China.

“We are pleased to welcome Robert to Inchcape. His broad international experience across automotive distribution, OEM partnerships, and business transformation will be valuable as we continue to strengthen our operations and pursue growth opportunities in the Philippines,” Hammett was quoted as saying.

In the same press release, Inchcape noted that the Philippines “remains an important market for Inchcape.”

Inchcape currently distributes Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, trucks, and buses, as well as Jaguar Land Rover vehicles, in the Philippines. It also operates the retail business of Harley-Davidson. The country is home to Inchcape’s Digital Delivery Centre and Global Business Services teams, which support the company’s global operations.
