Jetour Auto PH previews all-new T2

MANILA: Jetour Auto Philippines Incorporated (JAPI) gave a sneak preview of the T2 sport utility vehicle.

Expanding the brand's offering to the local market to four, the aforementioned sport utility vehicles (SUV) are expected to be publicly revealed at the upcoming Manila International Auto Show 2024.

Dimension, aesthetics

Size-wise, the Jetour T2 is a massive head-turner on the road.

It is 4,785 millimeters (mm) long; 2006 mm wide; and 1,880 mm tall with a 2,800 mm wheelbase and 220 mm ground clearance. It comes with short overhangs and sharp approach and departure angles that would be of great aid in maneuvering the vehicle — especially at off-road courses.

In addition, the vehicle features a beefy and boxy design reflected in the body, headlamp housings, front fascia, wheel arches, side mirrors, and tire cover at the rear. A gracious number of plastic claddings are present in the vehicle as seen on the bumpers and black trims around the vehicle.

Also at the back are the taillamps that match the headlights.

Breaking the dark colors are the hints of lime green within the front bumpers, roof railings, and center cap that gives it a dash of youthfulness.

Inside the roomy cabin are the two sets of digital displays — a 10-inch cluster gauge on the driver side and a 15.6-inch touchscreen at the center of the dashboard (mated to a 12-speaker Sony sound system).

Powertrain setup

Propelling the all-new T2 is a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that can deliver a peak output of 181 horsepower and up to 320 Newton-meters of torque. 

It is matched to the Jetour XWD system that automatically switches between two-wheel to four-wheel-drive and an automated limited-slip differential.

Pricing, availability

Available in Stone Gray, Bora Blue, Techno Black, and Gobi Beige, the all-new Jetour T2 comes in two variants and wears the following price tags:

• T2 Beyond: P2.498 million
• T2 Terrain: P2.598 million
