JMS 2025: Lexus presents 6-wheeler van
Marque appears to be gearing up for exciting new models
MANILA: For this year’s Japan Mobility Show, Lexus has presented some unique prototypes — headlined by the LS Concept, which appears to be a van with six wheels.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
What is now the new meaning of LS per Lexus?
According to the company, LS can now stand for “luxury space.”What other concept cars were presented by Lexus?
The other prototypes revealed by the brand are the Sport and Coupe Concepts.Per the Japanese car brand, LS, which previously stood for “luxury sedan” now stands for “luxury space.” Hence, the Lexus LS Concept offers a generous space for occupants to enjoy. As the Toyota-owned brand marque stated: “Space is freedom and space is privacy. Two commodities that are simply priceless.”

The angular design continues to the side profile of the van. The windows from the driver’s side offer a slightly ascending design. The handles of the door seem to sit flush on the panel.

Striking is its front wheels, which appear to be large when compared to the four wheels placed at the rear of the automobile. The company did not disclose whether or not the vehicle is propelled by the front or rear wheel axles, or if power is sent to all six of them.
It would be amazing to have an all-wheel drive setup, as it could make the van a capable vehicle not only for paved thoroughfares but also for those with slightly challenging terrains.
With the “van life” culture becoming popular and “camper van” builds becoming increasingly trendy, such an arrangement would be a hit among niche markets.
Since the presented model is still a concept vehicle, the final iteration might still change. But it would be exciting to see most of the showcased designs make it to the production unit.
Sport, Coupe Concepts
Aside from the LS Concept, Lexus also presented the Sport and Coupe Concepts at the highly anticipated auto expo.
