Major price hike set for tomorrow

MANILA: Motorists once again face major price hikes, prompting spikes for petroleum products across the board. 

According to the announcement made by the Department of Energy (DOE), gasoline products will increase by P3.65 per liter for all varieties (unleaded and premium). Meanwhile, diesel prices will increase by P10.68 per liter for both regular and diesel plus variants. 

Kerosene, on the other hand, will go as high as P11.77 per liter.

Unlike previous notices made by the agency, there is no possibility of rollbacks for this week’s price movement. 

Here is what it looks like at a glance, and in comparison with last week’s price updates:

As noted in the table above, the adjustment will take place from July 21 (tomorrow) to July 27. 

“Ang mga pagbabagong ito ay nakabatay sa galaw ng pandaigdigang merkado ng langis, sa gitna ng patuloy na mga kaganapan sa Middle East na nakaaapekto sa global supply at presyo (These changes are based on movements in the global oil market, amidst ongoing events in the Middle East that are affecting global supply and prices), the DOE captioned its social media post.” 

“Patuloy ang pagkilos ng Department of Energy upang mapalakas ang suplay ng langis at mapangalagaan ang kapakanan ng publiko (The Department of Energy continues its efforts to boost the oil supply and safeguard the public's welfare), it added.”
