MANILA: After announcing its multi-year partnership last month, Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 (F1) Team and Adidas have unveiled their first-ever collection that will be offered to the team and their fans.

The collection is made up of thread designed for the drivers, mechanics, engineers, and fans.Released last February 7, the newly-revealed threads “offer a fresh aesthetic to the paddock, born from sport and built for culture.”

“Reimagining the design codes of sports and sports lifestyle, the new team wear has been carefully crafted with specific cuts, performance technologies, and functionalities to optimally support each member of the team during race weekends while unifying them - and their fans – with a central design story of black, white and shades of the iconic Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team,” the statement added.
The debut lineup between the racing team (which is under Mercedes-Benz’ high-performance subsidiary) and the world-renowned athletic apparel include the following:
- Driver: Paddock wear for George Russell and Kimi Antonelli are made up of lightweight fabric made with Aeroready technology.

- Mechanics: Tops of the team members who work on machinery are tailored to provide mobility as it comes in lightweight fabric with the addition of reflective details at the front and back.

- Engineers: Team architects will be donning the company’s colors with a lightweight, technical polo top, created with breathable materials to replace the classic white shirt.

- Fanwear: Followers may choose among the numerous offerings that cover loungewear, hoodies, tops, and t-shirts (with additional driver-specific fanwear to be released later this year) to show support to the team.
According to Mercedes-AMG F1 Team, the range features a “holistic offer of special edition performance and lifestyle trainers to complete the collection.”
“Iconic running silhouettes, Ultraboost 5 and Supernova provide added comfort and performance in the paddock, whilst iconic Adidas sneakers further allow fans to pledge their support from the sidelines and beyond. The collection is completed with a selection of technical and lifestyle caps so fans can identify with their favorite team, bringing them closer together,” it noted.

Adidas Product Lead Bianca Mast said that the collection is the culmination of hard work and dedication from the brand’s creation teams to deliver a collection that supports the team and its fanbase.
“We believe sport is for everyone, at every level, and motorsport is no different. Together with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team, the prospect of bringing the pinnacle of motorsports to a new audience is one that truly excites us – and we can’t wait to see the famous three stripes in the paddock this season.”
For their part, Russell and Antonelli expressed their excitement on the collaboration.
“It’s incredible for us as a team to work with a brand like Adidas that truly understands what it is like to operate at the highest levels in sport. Their knowledge, expertise, and attention to detail is something that is only going to benefit us as a team and hopefully give us an advantage as we set out to fight for race wins and championships, both this season and beyond,” Russell shared.
