MPT South to reinforce motorist assistance program this holiday season

MANILA: Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South) will be on high alert for the upcoming Christmas rush.

The toll road operator anticipates a 10% to15% increase in traffic on its two concession expressways, the Manila-Cavite Expressway (Cavitex), including the C5 Link segment, and the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), on the upcoming holidays.

The “Safe Trip Mo, Sagot Ko” motorist assistance program, which was launched during the Christmas rush on its high-speed road networks, will be reinforced by MPT South. For Cavitex and C5 Link, this will be done in collaboration with its joint-venture partner, the Philippine Reclamation Authority, through its operating company, PEA Tollways Corporation (PEATX). Under the program, towing service for Class 1 vehicles is free up to the nearest exit starting on December 23, 2022 at 6 a.m. until December 26, 2022 at 6 a.m., and from January 1, 2023 at 6 a.m. until January 3, 2023 at 6 a.m. It is expected to improve customer service around-the-clock and add more staff in RFID lane assist, ambulant tellers in the cash lane, and traffic operations personnel.

Additionally, emergency medical services and incident response will be available 24/7. Construction along the main line will be suspended during this period, unless there are any urgent repairs needed.

Furthermore, MPT South is rewarding its loyal motorists with the “Download, Drive, and Win” raffle promo, which is open to all individual prepaid Class 1, 2, and 3 expressway users of the Cavitex, Cavitex C5 Link, CALAX, North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), and Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX). Motorists only need to download MPT Drive Hub, the newest digital app from MPTC, to enter the raffle. After downloading the app, reload using the app, or invite a friend to use the app, they will be qualified to receive points equivalent to raffle entries. 10 winners will get P10,000 each, and two lucky winners will receive a brand-new MG ZS. Promo runs until January 31, 2023.

The MPT Drive Hub app enables passage tracking, toll fee calculation, and traffic condition monitoring of MPTC expressways. Motorists may also make a roadside assistance request or send inquiries or complaints through the mobile app.
