Nissan Unleashes Its Updated crossover, The Juke-R 2.0
MANILA: With the Goodwood Festival of Speed just one day away, Nissan Motor Co. has announced an all-new Juke-R Nismo 2.0. This new release will be the successor to the first Juke-R Nismo, which was limited to just 21 units. So, when the company decided to update something as wild as the Juke-R, it simply upped the ante by giving it more power.
The 2.0 shares the same platform on which the first generation Juke-R was built, while having a new aerodynamic carbon fiber body-kit that comprises of a large bumper, side skirts, wide wheel arches, roof-mounted rear spoiler and a rear bumper that integrates the diffuser and the exhaust pipes.
But the biggest change lies under its skin. Nissan's engineers have swapped the 'ordinary' GT-R's twin-turbo V-6 with the 600 PS unit from the GT-R Nismo that offers a surge of 652 N-m of torque, while the previous version produced 492 PS and 588 N-m.
“The Juke-R has become an iconic Crossover supercar, and with the launch of the latest Juke model last year, it was the natural choice to upgrade the original Juke-R with added power and even bolder styling. The Juke-R 2.0 is a perfect ‘crossover' of the best bits of Nissan - real innovation showcasing our Crossover prowess fused with the excitement of the GT-R supercar engine,” said Gareth Dunsmore, Marketing Communications General Manager for Nissan Europe.
As of now, this refresh is only a concept as Nissan has not yet given a green signal to its production. The legendary Crossover-Supercar is set to be driven up the iconic Goodwood Hill by Nissan GT Academy graduate and Le Mans driver Jann Mardenborough.
