Nissan unveils all-new PIXO

MANILA: Nissan Motor Company Limited has unveiled the all-new PIXO, a small electric city car intended for the European market.

According to the Japanese carmaker, the compact mover demonstrates the company’s vision through electrification with choice, partnership and an agile approach to delivering customer-focused mobility. 

“The future of electric mobility is about smarter vehicles that fit naturally into people's lives. PIXO was designed specifically for Europe, for our cities—giving customers everything they need from an EV (electric vehicle), without unnecessary complexity,” Nissan AMIEO (Africa, Middle East, India, Europe, and Oceania) Chairperson Massimiliano Messina was quoted as saying.

“As fuel costs rise, the case for switching to electrified vehicles only grows stronger. Nissan is right at the heart of that shift: through our rapidly expanding EV line-up and our highly efficient e‑POWER hybrid technology, we're delivering solutions that lower running costs without compromising convenience,” he added.

Vehicle specifications

The all-new Nissan PIXO is powered by an electric motor and a 27.5 kilowatt-hour LFP battery to deliver 80 horsepower (60 kilowatts) and a driving range of up to 259 kilometers based on Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure standards. 

Juicing up the battery can be done using either a direct current charger or an alternating current charging system, with the former allowing the battery to be charged from 15 to 80 percent in 29 minutes.

Maneuvering tight thoroughfares is made less of a challenge thanks to its city-friendly dimensions. The all-new Nissan PIXO has an overall length of 3,796 millimeters (mm), an overall width of 1,790 mm, and an overall height of 1,512 mm. 

Turning radius is at around 9.9 meters, while the ground clearance is at 140 mm. 

Its advanced driver-assist technologies include the MyNissan app for navigation, real-time route planning, charging, and other vehicle functions. Likewise, it also gets Google built-in, including Gemini.

Estimated launch date 

According to Nissan Motor Company Limited, the all-new PIXO iiss expected to roll out early 2027 with pricing, market specifications, and pre-order information to be announced from December onwards.

It is designed by Nissan and produced at Renault’s Novo Mesto manufacturing facility in Slovenia.
