October 20, a Flagship Honda Car Soon to Grace Philippines: 2016 Honda Legend

MANILA: So, October seems to be a busy month for both the auto industry and car enthusiasts. First, Volkswagen group announced the all-new 2016 Passat that is scheduled to launch on 21st October and now some prominent sources of the auto world says Honda is planning to unveil its premium flagship sedan, 2016 Honda Legend. This mid-size luxury car is on a roll since 1985 and currently serves as Honda's flagship vehicle.

With its November 2014 launch in Japan, it is now all set to try its luck in the Philippines market. The Japanese has bestowed the car with a fresh design, which they call 'Firmed Elegant Form'. So, one thing is for sure that there is no dearth of good looks when we talk about the Legend. Topping its beauty is the Jewel Eye LED Headlight System, consisting of 16 individual lenses that look no less than crystals and help brighten up the road ahead. The sharp counter lines flowing at its 4,995 mm long body increases its classy looks by manifold and provides its strength to compete with the likes of Mercedes S-Class.

Another interesting fact following this 1980 kg beauty is that the year 2015 marks its 30th anniversary and now with the fifth generation Legend, Honda promises to offer best technological advancements ever. The package includes a head-up display, three types of in-leather options, and at the safety front there is 'Honda SENSING' system.

Under the hood is a 3.5-litre V6 SOHC direct injection naturally-aspirated engine that generates 314 PS of maximum power and 371 Nm of peak torque. In addition to the engine, the electric motor present at the front and rear side produces a maximum output of 48 PS and 37 PS respectively. As for the torque both are efficient enough to produce 148 Nm and 73 Nm of torque each. So, in all the power mill when coupled to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission produces 382 PS of power and 461 Nm of torque.

Honda Philippines is not yet out with any official announcement about the launch, so for now don't get your hopes any higher as a confirmation is still awaited.
