Toyota bares 2025 Corolla Hatchback for US market

MANILA: The United States (US) arm of Toyota has introduced the 2025 model year Corolla Hatchback.

Per the Japanese carmaker’s American division, the 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback “combines style, technology, and a fun-to-drive quality into an affordable, efficient package that’s ready for the road ahead.”

Striking looks

At the fore, the 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback wears gen-four Prius-like lights, which the marque describes as “slim” and “aggressive.” It also dons a large grille with a mesh-like design bordered by sharp black trims on each side.

Its side profile is characterized by smooth lines, side mirrors with a black accent, as well as a black B-pillar. It rides on either 16- or 18-inch wheels.

The rear end of the 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback offers LED taillamps with a diffusing inner lens designed to highlight the vehicle’s stout stance.

According to Toyota, the latest version of its iconic hatchback is available in Blue Crush Metallic, Inferno, Midnight Black Metallic, Classic Silver Metallic, Finish Line Red, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Wind Chill Pearl, and Ice Cap.

Pretty much like here in the Philippines, Toyota also offers two-tone combinations in the US. The abovementioned colors can be had with a Midnight Black Metallic roof.

Comfortable cabin

The cabin of the 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback in the US is said to have been designed with comfort in mind.

It has seats optimized to provide occupants of the hatchback with a natural body posture and position. Additionally, the front door storage has been outfitted with bottle holders that can fit 24-ounce bottles. Rear seat passengers have upper door cup holders that hold 16-ounce bottles.

Past the multi-functional steering wheel is a 4.2-inch multi-information display screen seated between two analog gauges. In higher grades, owners can enjoy a seven-inch digital instrument cluster.

Complementing the instrument panel is an eight-inch infotainment system. It has Bluetooth phone connectivity features as well as wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Depending on the variant, audio can either be sent to a standard six-speaker audio system or an eight-speaker JBL Premium Audio setup.

Other notable interior features of the 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback include a single- or dual-zone air conditioning system, paddle shifters, an electronic parking brake, and a Qi wireless charging dock.

Reliable engine

The 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback in the US is powered by a 2.0-liter Dynamic-Force direct-injection inline four-cylinder engine mated to a Dynamic-Shift continuously variable transmission.

With power sent to the front wheels, the hot hatch can generate as much as 169 horsepower with 204 Newton-meters of torque.

Features like a rigid crank case with integrated stiffener, a lightweight resin camshaft cover, and a ribbed oil pan not only make the powerplant reliable but also offer a smoother performance.

Robust safety technologies

The 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback is also offered with a handful of safety features that make it an ideal daily driver for the brand’s US customers.

Safety technologies found by the updated hatchback include a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, road sign assist, automatic high beams, and proactive driving assist.

Further, it does come with standard amenities like seatbelts and airbags.

Variants, pricing

The 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback is available in three variants in the US: SE, Nightshade, and XSE. They are priced at $23,505 (around P1.364 million), $24,505 (approximately P1.422 million), and $26,805 (about P1.556 million).

“The sporty hatchback is low to the ground, lightweight and sure to make a lasting impression that inspires drivers to go out and make more happen,” Toyota said in a press release.
