Toyota Crown Receives Updates on its 60th Birthday

MANILA: Toyota Crown, luxury sedan which has enjoyed its era of glory in Philippines has been lately discontinued to make way for Camry. So, not the Philippines but Japanese are still fond of its ride and therefore, the brand has decided to celebrate the 60th birthday of it by giving it the much needed refresh.

The updates include athletic and luxurious touches along with a new engine and high-tech safety gear. The Crown Athlete receives a revised mesh grille with changing effect, bi-LED headlamps along with LED clearance lights and daytime running lamps. The interiors are sophisticated with agate laminate paneling and Prussia Blue color scheme for turbo variants. The luxurious Crown Royal gets a new horizontal-slatted grille with chrome trims that extend even lower than the bumper to give it a unique appearance. The cabins are fresh with wood trimmings which match nicely with black-and-brown interior palette.

The Crown Athlete will now come fitted with a new 2.0-litre direct-injection four-cylinder turbo engine in pair with 8 Super ETC, start stop system, Driving Response, and Acceleration Management system which would allow the car to exhibit smooth acceleration and fuel economy of 13.4 km/l on both highways and cities.

The newest safety features include Intelligent Transportation System package which uses the radio frequency signals to communicate with other vehicles and infrastructure. The smart safety warnings like right-turn collision caution, signal change advisory, red light caution, emergency vehicle notification, and radar cruise control are also there with which Toyota aims to make the ride a safe ride.

Thus, the 60th-anniversary Crown is not only enthralling and safe but exciting too with host of colors to be offered. The exterior paint scheme can further be matched with white, black or gold interiors which would help in expressing your individuality.
