MANILA: Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is celebrating its 38 years of presence in the country with a goal of breaching the three-million cumulative sales milestone this 2026.

“We are ready to respond with significantly better supply for our high-demand models. Now, success depends on execution,” Hashimoto said.
Notably, the company took 27 years before it reached its first million, seven years after to its second, and a little over four years to its third.

TMP manufacturing
Key to TMP’s operations in the country is its commitment to local production.
Photo from Toyota Motor PhilippinesPreviously located in Bicutan, Parañaque City, its manufacturing operations transferred to a 82-hectare space in Santa Rosa City, Laguna, which was declared as a “Special Economic Zone” through Presidential Proclamation 381.
Manned by a workforce of over 4,500, this facility has produced over 1.21 million units of completely knocked down vehicles. The firm also contributes to over 83,000 jobs across its broader network of dealers, suppliers, and subsidiaries.
Beyond employment generation and exports, Toyota has made investments that furthered technological and manpower skill upgrades locally—across manufacturing, logistics, sales and service operations.

Currently, the TMP manufacturing plant builds the Vios, Innova, and newly-revived Tamaraw—allowing the company to achieve its record production volume of 63,803 units last year.
‘Triple Crown’ holder for more than 20 years
Moreover, TMP is at the top spot of the local automotive scene by keeping the “Triple Crown” award for 24 straight years in 2025—leading sales in the passenger car, commercial vehicle and overall car industry sales.
On the global level, the Philippines remains as Toyota’s third largest market in the Southeast Asian region and 10th largest worldwide.

The recent anniversary celebration also marked TMP’s 38th year of contributing to societal and sustainable development.

Earlier in the week-long celebration, Hashimoto led inside the Toyota Special Economic Zone in planting of a Molave tree, the symbolic 500,000th tree under the company’s goal to nurture one million trees by 2030.
