Volkswagen Philippines revealed 2018 Caddy for the local market

MANILA: Volkswagen Philippines is all set to greet the new year to the Filipinos with its 2018 iteration of Caddy. Yes, the 2018 Volkswagen Caddy has been revealed for the local market that reflects the German functionality perfectly blended with modern styling. Depending on the requirement, the Caddy MPV is available in different body configuration. This time, the manufacturer has offered the updated MPV in Deep Black Pearl and chestnut Brown color options. There will be also a Fortuna Red option, limited to only Sportline variant.

Apart from new color options, the 2018 VW Caddy has also received a slightly restyled front grille, headlights and LED daytime running lights. For the side profile, 17-inch ‘Madrid’ alloy wheels are the new addition while the rear has been upgraded with smoked taillights. The cabin has received a number of changes which include chrome inserts, Fontan Red dashboard, new instrument gauges and an updated touchscreen infotainment system. The new version of the Caddy is benefited with a six-speaker audio system, Bluetooth connectivity, and other multimedia functions.  

Powering the 2018 VW Caddy is a 1.6-litre four-cylinder diesel engine with direct injection that delivers a maximum power output of 102 PS and peak torque of 250 Nm. The engine is further mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. In terms of safety, the Caddy features hill-hold control, anti-lock braking system (ABS), front, flat tire indicator, engine immobilizer, front, side and curtain airbags.

Volkswagen has priced the 2018 Caddy strategically and the base variant (Comfortline) is priced at Php 1,430,000 while the Sportline holds a sticker price of Php 1,480,000. Let’s see how the updated MPV helps the manufacturer in pushing the sales figure in the new year.
