MANILA: Polyphony Digital, the developers of Gran Turismo 7 for the PlayStation 4 and 5, is set to add the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra high-performance electric vehicle (EV) to the racing simulation video game’s roster of cars. It is also the first-ever vehicle from a Chinese manufacturer to become playable in the Gran Turismo series.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra was added to Gran Turismo 7 during the first round of Gran Turismo 7 World Series 2025 on June 7, 2025.The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra's addition to Gran Turismo 7 was announced at the first round of the “Gran Turismo 7 World Series 2025” - the game’s official e-sports championship series that previously kicked off in London on July 7, 2025.
To note, the forthcoming addition of the SU7 Ultra in Gran Turismo 7 was brought about by Polyphony Digital’s partnership with Chinese tech giant Xiaomi.
“We are delighted to begin this partnership with Xiaomi. The Chinese automotive industry has progressed rapidly, and Xiaomi - a newly established player in the automotive sector - has already created an exceptional vehicle, Xiaomi SU7, as a pivotal part of its comprehensive smart ecosystem, which spans smartphones and wearables to home appliances,” Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi said.

Additionally, Yamauchi took note of the Xiaomi SU7’s performance at the Nürburgring race track in Germany, where the car has continuously set records since its official introduction in 2024.

For the unfamiliar, the Xaiomi SU7 is classified as a full-sized sedan developed and manufactured by Xiaomi Automobile Corporation Limited, a subsidiary of Xiaomi.
Per the automotive company, the SU7 Ultra, the model’s top-spec trim, utilizes up to 21 carbon fiber components for optimal weight distribution. It also boasts highly advanced technologies, such as the car maker’s in-house developed torque vectoring, adaptive damping systems, and advanced driver-assist systems.

Apart from having loads of technologies, the SU7 Ultra is also a “road-legal race car” as it comes standard with a chassis-integrated roll cage, 21-inch wheels wrapped with Pirelli P Zero 5 tires, and Akebono brake calipers.
In total, its trio of electric motors can generate up to 1,526 horsepower, which Xiaomi says enables the car to accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in just 1.98 seconds.
