Zigwheels PH monthly wrap: December 2025

MANILA: December shaped up to be just as exciting as any other month in 2025. Despite what appears to be a closer, several brands still launched various models and even opened new dealerships to expand their reach. 

Here is a quick look at what transpired in December of 2025. 

Local launches 

New Toyota Tamaraw trims 

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has released new variants of the Tamaraw commercial vehicle, which are the GL Utility Van and Aluminum Cargo grades. 

According to the local wing of the Japanese carmaker, these are the result of customer feedback and prove the company’s drive to empower businesses in the country. 

Toyota bZ4X

TMP also unleashed the all-electric Toyota bZ4X, effectively bolstering its electrified lineup in the Philippines. 

Per the manufacturer, models to be sold in the country will come from Japan.  

Toyota GR Corolla 

TMP seems to be on a roll this final month of 2026, as it also released the performance-oriented Toyota GR Corolla. 

Notable for having four doors (other GR models only have two), a 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-three engine with all-wheel drive, and either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission. 

Kawasaki ATV

Kawasaki launched a brand-new all-terrain vehicle (ATV) this December. 

Dubbed the Kawasaki Brute Force 450, it is a mid-size four-wheeled motorcycle that slots between the Brute Force 300 and 700.

Dealership openings 

Some brands that opened new dealerships in the country include the following: 

• Nissan pop-up Bataan 
• Suzuki Calapan 
• Aito Experience Center Bonifacio Global City 
• Hyundai Bohol 
• Isuzu Zamboanga 
• Suzuki Bataan 

Local updates 

Also in December, the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Incorporated announced that the 10th Philippine International Motor Show is scheduled from June 4 to 7, 2026. 

Ford Philippines also reported that it had already sold over 1,000 Territory Hybrid units while the Suzuki Dzire and Fronx received their official fuel-economy numbers from the Department of Energy. 

Further, the Honda Civic and HR-V also showed off their fuel economy at the DOE-Petron Eco run and TMP officially handed over Tamaraw units to the City of Santa Rosa.  

In the two-wheel division, Yamaha Motor Philippines conducted the Yamaha Grand Prix.
