Its arrival meant that adventurous Filipino motorcycle enthusiasts now have a more affordable option when buying a two-wheeler that can be used as a daily driver as well as for spontaneous weekend escapades.

Priced at P140,000, the motorcycle is touted as a model that was “born for the toughest terrains.”

Complementing its rough and rugged character are three colors that further amplify its outdoorsy style. That said, let us take a look at the three available colors of the Hero XPulse 200 4V.

    Matte Nexus Blue

While the colorway is called Matte Nexus Blue, the said option covers the motorcycle with mostly white tones — and white is a color often associated with safety.

On that note, those interested in bringing home the nameplate will be happy to find that the Hero XPulse 200 4V is equipped with decent safety features that can help eliminate worries while they’re having fun sitting atop the daring motorcycle.

To begin with, the Hero XPulse 200 4V is fitted with a rally-style windshield, which helps protect the rider from the elements. It also deflects the wind, which can help make their experience more comfortable.

In addition, the relatively tall windshield can also block debris, bugs, and other airborne objects.

Hero Motocorp also gave the XPulse 200 4V with closed-loop knuckle guards, which could offer some layer of protection should the rider be required to squeeze into tight spots or any untoward incident happen that could hurt one’s hands.

Finally, the Hero XPulse 200 4V gets three anti-lock braking system (ABS) modes that can be tailored to fit the rider’s preference. ABS, for the uninitiated, improves directional stability and helps keep the motorcycle in an upright position, thereby preventing unnecessary accidents when decelerating or bringing the motorcycle to a halt.

    Black Sports Red

Black Sports Red swathes the Hero XPulse 200 4V with a good amount of crimson, thus making it look like a fast motorcycle whether it’s speeding on national highways or sitting still in a parking lot.

Performance-wise, the Hero XPulse 200 4V can produce 18.9 horsepower with 17.35 Newton-meters of torque, all thanks to its 199.6 cubic centimeter engine paired with a five-speed constant mesh transmission.

Stopping power comes from petal disc brakes, which measure 276 millimeters (mm) at the front and 220 mm at the rear. The brake at the fore is housed inside a 21-inch wheel wrapped with a 90/90 series tire while the one at the back can be found alongside an 18-inch wrapped with a 120/80 series tire.

For its suspension, the Hero XPulse 200 4V uses a telescopic front fork with an anti-friction bush while the rear gets a rectangular swing arm with a 10-step preload adjustable monoshock.

    Techno Blue

Aptly-named Techno Blue colorway reflects the technological features of the Hero XPulse 200 4V.

Its roster of motorcycle features include a full digital LCD instrument panel. The small screen is equipped with turn-by-turn navigation and Bluetooth technology, which allows smartphone integration.

Further, the Hero XPulse 200 4V is also fitted with LED headlamps that provide decent illumination for better visibility when riding.

Other notable features include a USB charging port and a fully-integrated engine start-kill switch.
