2018 Jawa 350 Special makes its global debut
MANILA: Jawa has unveiled a brand new motorbike, the 350 Special. The 2018 Jawa 350 Special is grounded in the Jawa 350 OHC. It is the third model by Jawa following the 660 Vintage and the 350 OHC.
If we talk about the styling of the bike, it reflects the glorious racing past of the brand. It boasts a gorgeous cafe racer design. The colour scheme is very retro and we love it! It has a classic colour scheme of red and white, spoke wheels with chunky tires and many elements of chrome and silver on its body. With its rounded headlight cowl, twin upswept exhausts, flat seat; the bike has already gained a lot of attention.
Coming to the technical specifications, the bike draws its power from a 397cc parallel-twin engine with fuel injection that produces 27.6 hp of maximum power at 6500 rpm and 30.6 Nm of peak torque at 5000 rpm. Shinray, a Chinese manufacturing company is producing the powertrain whereas, the fuel injection system will be constructed in Delhi.
The 2018 Jawa 350 OHC uses disc brakes, and a single channel ABS in the front. It has has standard telescopic forks up front and twin shock absorbers at the back. The bike’s weight is 171 kg’s and has a 17-litre fuel tank. The bike also offers ABS.
Its twin-swept exhaust system and a flat seat with a stubby tail section add to its cafe racer look, very similar to the Triumph Thruxton R. It has been designed to pay an ode to the racing heritage of the bike maker, and its look reminds us of the motorbikes in the 60s and 70s.
In 2016, Mahindra acquired a majority share of 60% in Classic Legends Pvt Ltd; the company which owns BSA and has an exclusive brand license agreement with Jawa in some countries.
