BMW C 400 GT is en route to the Philippines

MANILA: With the Philippine automobile industry growing at a rapid pace, the big-scooter segment has also been catching up with the pace of late. Joining the fleet will be the BMW C 400 GT. BMW Motorrad Philippines is all set to expand its scooter portfolio in the Philippines with the launch of the C 400 X’s sibling C 400 GT. We have already seen the BMW C 400 X in the Philippine market., however, it is more of a city-bound scooter by the German automaker. With the arrival of the C 400 GT, people who like to go on those long highway rides along with city wandering would certainly love to have the Gran Turismo variant of the scooter on offer.

Unlike the BMW C 400 X, the C 400 GT boasts an angular design philosophy. Bringing the front fascia of the scooter to life are the twin LED headlights with integrated turn signals. And those long highway rides, there is a tall windscreen that will protect you from the wind blast. Convenience features on the C 400 GT include two glove and helmet compartments. In terms of comfort, there is a dedicated backrest for the rider along with footboards for the passenger. More modern world stuff on the BMW C 400 GT includes Keyless Ride and 6.5-inch full-colour TFT screen multifunctional instrument cluster.

Addressing the mechanicals on BMW C 400 GT, the German scooter comes housing a 350cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine which makes 34 PS of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 35 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The ample power is then channelled to the rear wheel via a continuously variable transmission or CVT unit. For better and more efficient braking, the BMW C 400 GT is equipped with disc brakes at both front and rear. Moreover, the scooter also gets anti-lock braking system ABS along with automatic stability control or ASC.

We expect the BMW Motorrad Philippines to make an official announcement regarding the C 400 GT anytime soon. The scooter will very likely be offered in Alpine White, Moonwalk Grey, and Blackstorm Metallic color options with a 5-year warranty, just like any other BMW two-wheeler or car.
