Things we like about Yamaha Mio Aerox 155
Adding to the wondrous collection of Yamaha Philippines scooters is the all-new Mio Aerox 155. The bulky and aggressive looking aura of this motorcycle resembles a sporty scooter with features that makes it very easy to handle in thoroughfares.
This 155cc scooter is available in two trims which are the Standard and the S. The S variant is equipped with Antilock Braking System hence, there is no wonder why it got sold out within hours of the initial release.
Fusing dynamism, excellent design, and power looks have become Yamaha’s protocol when it comes to releasing more Mio variants. After all, they are after the younger generation of motorists called the “Miolennials”. This is also why the styling of the scooters are undoubtedly modern, very youthful, and comfy.
With its length of 1990 mm, width of 700 mm, and height of 1125 mm, the size of this premium scooter seems to be enough for daily drives. This makes it very applicable for young professionals who want to have faster transportation when going to work and moms who like to keep market shopping or fetching kids from school in style.
Not convinced yet of how amazing this scooter is? Take a look at the other things that we like about Mio Aerox 155:
They say don’t judge a book by its cover but seemingly, this scooter is already amazing just by its looks. The Mio Aerox 155 is available in Race Blu, Vibrant Orange, and Black Raven colors for the Standard whilst the S variant is available in very elegant Matte Blue and White. You can already see how Yamaha took a lot of time on conceptualizing these series, the Mio Aerox 155 colors are so vibrant and classy that it can make you look like a boss when riding along the busy streets of Manila. Furthermore, the updated graphics in the S variant compliments to the overall millennial touch for this variant.
The dual headlights which remind you of your favorite titular robot-themed shows like Daimos, Voltes V and even Power Rangers, is something to consider as well. Just take a look at those powerful lights which can provide you with clear sight and a very modern front view.
Mio Aerox 155’S sharp and angular bodywork already creates a very good impression and is also complemented with super-wide tires measuring 110/80-14 in the front and 140/70-14 for the rear.
Engine and performance
Liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve
Fuel Supply System
Engine Oil Capacity
Dry, Centrifugal Shoe
Both Aerox standard and the S variant are equipped with Liquid-cooled, 4-valve single-cylinder engine that fires up to 14.7 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 13.8 Nm torque at 6,250 rpm.
Each unit is also employed with VVA or variable valve actuation which can adjust the fuel intake of the engine at a certain rpm. It also allows stronger torque at low speeds and power at high speeds. This also offers more flexibility to the engine’s valve train so you can truly “Lead with “ Speed” just like what the tagline of Yamaha Mio Aerox series says.
Technology and other features
What we admire the most about Yamaha Mio Aerox specs sheet is it’s 5.8-inch LCD digital meter panel that essentially provides you with an enhanced display screen. This gives the Mio Aerox 155 a higher advantage in terms of innovative technology. This digital display also has an indicator when the VVA is active. Not just that, there is also an electric socket that also has ample space for you to charge your phone or iPod while riding. Who would have thought riding a scooter can this be convenient?
You can also take advantage of the 25-liter compartment of this scooter. This big storage capacity is so impressive as it can fit more items even a full-face helmet or rain gear.
We also like the fact that the Hydraulic Single Disc front brake of the Mio Aerox S is also equipped with ABS or Antilock Braking System which makes it safer to drive. The ABS prevents the wheels from locking up during braking which also maintains tractive contact with the road surface. This technology is usually available in cars and aircraft.
The Stop and Start System in the S variant is something that also caught our attention. When this is enabled, the engine will automatically switch off after five seconds of being idle. This can help you save up by avoiding unnecessary fuel consumption. You also don’t have to worry about your battery as it is very well-protected. The quick start function allows you to return to your riding with ease because of the store air-fuel mixture in your engine. This is very ideal for conquering EDSA as it saves you fuel in traffic. After all, you can quickly restart your engine by simply twisting the throttle.
Present in the premium variant of Mio Aerox 155 is the Smart Key System that allows you to unlock your motorcycle with a keyless ignition system in just a press of a button. Can’t find your Mio in a sea of parked motorcycles? Push the button on the Smart Key and your Aerox will beep and light up (Simply amazing!).
Furthermore, Aerox is also known for being fuel-efficient, thanks to the Blue Core Technology that Yamaha has given to this variant. This technology equips Yamaha’s motorcycles with more power and faster pick-up while delivering better fuel efficiency and it is very environment-friendly because of lower emissions.
