Yamaha Motor PH refreshes lineup

MANILA: Aside from setting two new Guinness World Records over the weekend, Yamaha Motor Philippines Incorporated (YMPH) has also updated its lineup.

Revealed at the recently-concluded Yamaha Motorshow 2024 (and displayed alongside the brand’s local offerings) is the all-new MT-09 SP and the spruced-up Tenere 700.  

Below are the details on the updates on the said models.

All-new MT-09 SP

The all-new Yamaha MT-09 SP is 2,090 millimeters (mm) long; 820mm wide; and 1,145 mm tall with an 825mm seat height and 140mm minimum ground clearance. Its wet weight is 194 kilograms (kg), which includes the 14-liter fuel tank capacity.

It comes with redesigned cowling with LED headlamps, tail lamp cluster, and an updated tank design — making it fiercer-looking than ever.

Powering the all-new Yamaha MT-09 SP is the 890 cubic-centimeter, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, double overhead cam (DOHC), in-line three-cylinder mill with D-Mode and traction control system.

Guaranteeing stability are telescopic fork and swingarm-type suspensions for the front and rear portions, respectively while the stopping power comes from anti-lock braking system (ABS).

Its host of amenities include keyless operating system, full thin-film-transistor (TFT) digital cluster gauge, and Y-Connect.

The price of the all-new Yamaha MT-09 SP is P799,000.

Refreshed Tenere 700

Meanwhile, the Yamaha Tenere 700 has been updated with a full-TFT screen, and  a switchable ABS.

Propelling the dual sport offering is the liquid-cooled, 689cc four-valve, two-pot mill. Facilitating deceleration and halting are the hydraulic disc brakes with Brembo calipers .

The motorcycle maintained the dimensions of the pre-facelift version as it measures 2,370mm long; 905mm wide; and 1,455 mm tall, with an 875mm seat height and 240 mm ground clearance. 

Further, it is still fitted with a 16-liter tank and has a wet weight of 240 kg.

Its retail price is P699,000.
