Chery Tiggo 5x Pro

The cabin of the Chery Tiggo 5X Pro also has the same visual appeal as the exterior – neither it is too simple, nor it goes too overboard. The layout looks elegant with the all-black leather upholstery in place, which like the exterior, also gets sporty-looking contrast red highlights across the dashboard, door panels and seat upholstery.

The driver’s cockpit of the Chery Tiggo 5X Pro gets a modern 7-inch full-TFT instrument console behind the three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, which has silver accents on the spokes. At the top of the centre console, there is a 10.25-inch standalone touchscreen infotainment system, below which the console accommodates trapezoidal AC vents and sleek buttons for the audio system.

The lower centre console also houses another touch-sensitive screen for the climate control functions, while the area surrounding the transmission lever and electronic parking brake has a brushed aluminium finish. Other features offered in the cabin of the Chery Tiggo 5X Pro include a powered driver’s seat, tilt and telescopic adjustability for the steering wheel, wireless charger, engine push-start stop button and a sunroof.

The Chery Tiggo 5X Pro has got the right proportions for a premium compact SUV, which doesn’t look undersized or gained from any angle. The overall size, along with the understated design language, makes it look mature in its appearance.

The front profile of the Chery Tiggo 5X Pro has the hexagonal grille as its chief highlight, which like the Tiggo 2 Pr, comes with diamond-studded chrome inserts within it. Here, the sweptback trapezoidal headlamp housings are placed adjacent to the sides of the grille, which house LED projectors and daytime running LEDs within them. The Chery Tiggo 5X Pro also gets prominent LED fog lamps placed within carved housings on the corners of the front bumper, which also gets premium-looking chrome touches over them. The silver scuff plate at the centre gets contrast red accents over it for a sporty appeal.

The Chery Tiggo 5X Pro has a simple appeal when viewed from the side, with not much visual drama here. The front and rear fenders have prominent curves over them, while the SUV gets body cladding over wheel arches and lower part of door panels with red accents and roof rails. While the Comfort variant has 17-inch alloy wheels, the Hybrid gets larger 18-inch machined alloy wheels. At the back, the Chery Tiggo 5X Pro has 3D hollow light band LED tail lamps with a blacked-out effect, which are joined by a thin strip of chrome across the boot lid.

Both the variants of the Chery Tiggo 5X Pro get McPherson struts at the front, but while the Comfort variant gets a torsion beam at the rear, the Hybrid variant has an independent multi-link setup for the same. The ride quality feels plush and decently comfortable, especially in the more premium Hybrid variant. However, there are no drive modes on offer.

There are two engine options, with each offered differently in the variants on offer. The Comfort variant gets a 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine, which produces a maximum power output of 114 bhp and a maximum torque output of 141 Nm. The higher-spec Hybrid variant has a more premium and powerful 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system, which churns out 154 bhp of maximum power and 230 Nm of maximum torque output. Both the powertrains come standard with a CVT gearbox.

The safety net offered in the Chery Tiggo 5X Pro as standard includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, an electronic stability program, traction control, tyre pressure monitoring system, brake assist, electronic parking brake, hill hold assist, hill descent control and cruise control. The Hybrid variant also gets side and curtain airbags.

With all the premium features and new-age engine options, the Chery Tiggo 5X Pro feels like the right choice in the compact SUV space, which should go well with all new-age car buyers.
