The Chery Tiggo Touring’s cabin is fitted with a good combination of modern features and utilitarian elements, which is commendable given its price point. The driver and co-pilot have plenty of room in the front, while the rear seats can comfortably accommodate two adults and a child in the middle. At the back, it also offers a decent 420-L trunk capacity, enough for a small family’s groceries and light luggage.

Additionally, its leatherette and fabric seats provide all passengers with decent cushioning and support both on short and long-distance trips. Up front, the driver has access to an analogue instrument cluster with a 3.5-inch digital multi-information display and a multi-control steering wheel. Owners of the CVT trim also get a wireless charger for their mobile phones, designed for added convenience.

In terms of entertainment and information accessibility, this crossover comes with a 10.25-inch HD display that offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as Bluetooth connectivity. Both trims get a 4-speaker sound system. 

For starters, the Chery Tiggo Touring measures 4,200 mm in length, 1,760 mm in width, and 1,570 mm in height. This crossover also has a wheelbase of 2,555 mm and a ground clearance of 186 mm.

The Chery Tiggo Touring’s exterior design strikes a balance between boldness and elegance, highlighted by its stylish chrome grille with a checkered pattern that slightly resembles a spider’s web from afar. Its confident-looking fascia is flanked by LED DRLs with a hypermodern light pattern. Underneath, it gets halogen projector headlights. 

Meanwhile, its side profile looks classy and sporty at the same time, thanks to a blend of blacked-out features and shiny accents from its satin silver roof rails and 16-inch gunmetal-finished alloy wheels. 

Like the front end, its rear exudes a sleek, modern character, complemented by a light bar that connects its curved tail lights. At the top, a spoiler adds a sporty touch to its overall appearance on the road. And to complete its look, it features a two-tone rear bumper with dual exhaust tips designed mainly for aesthetic purposes. 

The Chery Tiggo Touring comes with a MacPherson Strut suspension at the front and a Torsion Beam at the rear. This crossover delivers driver-friendly handling in the city, merging through tight traffic without much fuss. Its ground clearance also enhances its absorption of bumps and other minor road imperfections both in the city and on the highway. Overall, the Tiggo Touring’s suspension setup offers a decent mix of comfort and performance on the road.

Powering the Chery Tiggo Touring model line is a 1.5L 4-cylinder DOHC engine that delivers 113 PS of maximum power and 138 Nm of maximum torque. Its engine comes mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 9-speed continuously variable transmission system. 

While it may not deliver the most exciting performance in its segment, this crossover still has enough power and torque to get you from point A to point B efficiently. Its acceleration is just enough in the city. The higher trim is also equipped with Eco and Sport drive modes for added flexibility on the road.

The Chery Tiggo Touring comes equipped with four airbags, ISOFIX child anchors, an anti-theft system with an immobilizer, a central door lock, cruise control, a reverse camera with dynamic guidelines, and a total of three rear parking sensors.

This crossover’s braking setup consists of ventilated discs at the front and solid discs at the rear. Its brakes are also supported by an anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, hill hold and descent control, as well as a brake assist.

In my opinion, the Chery Tiggo Touring is a great first car option for both novice drivers and budget-conscious consumers. With its feature-rich cabin, practical design, and accessible price point, it delivers excellent value for those looking for a reliable daily companion.
