Kia EV6

Kia has carried out the same futuristic vibe to the cabin of the EV6 as it has executed for its exterior. The entire interior is finished in a dual-tone theme of black and white, with black suede leather combined with white leather accents. The gloss black and satin silver accents at places further make it look more premium.

The highlight of the dashboard of the Kia EV6 is the curved multi-functional display, which houses two 12.3-inch screens for the instrument console and touchscreen infotainment system. Just below this curved display, there is a slim layer housing AC vents, below which there is a slim trapezoidal panel for the dual-zone automatic climate control. The wraparound centre console has a rich look to it, featuring a drive controller knob, electronic parking brake and various other switches.

Being a high-end all-electric vehicle, the Kia EV6 is loaded to the brim in terms of features. This electric crossover comes with a 14-speaker Meridian sound system, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, powered tailgate, powered and ventilated front seats with memory function, front relaxation seats, wireless charger and vehicle-to-load function.

New-age electric vehicles are usually futuristic and eye-catching, and the Kia EV6 manages to belong to the tribe with its bold exterior look. The sharp and aerodynamic look of the Kia EV6 is the first and foremost thing you will notice about it, and in that sense, it creates a very strong first impression.

The Kia EV6 has a flowing design at the front, with the crossover featuring angular headlamps on the corners and a slim-looking strip of grille flowing between them. The headlamps here are all-LED units and come with segmented LED daytime running lamps on their upper and lower corners. The headlamps have nicely flowing contours above them on the front bonnet, while the front bumper has an edgy look to it too, with L-shaped gloss black inserts on the corners and an air dam in the middle.

The Kia EV6 has a very distinctive side profile, with it inspired by the shooting brake body profile of more high-end premium cars. There are power bulges over the front and rear fenders, while the door panels come with rather clean-looking designs, along with flush-type door handles. While the A and B pillars of the Ev6 come with a gloss black theme, the 20-inch machined alloy wheels further make the EV6 look athletic.

It is the rear profile of the Kia EV6 which is the boldest angle of the vehicle to look at. The all-electric crossover comes with a huge curved inverted U-shaped LED tail lamp, which is spread across its width. The boot lid here has a scooped design, while the rear bumper has a gloss black theme for the inserts. The roof spoiler at the top further enhances the aerodynamic and sporty appeal of the car.

Measuring 4,695mm long, 1,890mm wide and 1,550mm tall, the Kia EV6 has a good road presence, nearly that of a luxury midsize SUV. However, the sloping roofline, while giving it a grand tourer persona, eats up a bit of headroom. The slightly sport-tuned McPherson struts & single lower arm type at the front and multi-link at the rear, along with three drive modes – normal, eco and sport, give it a pleasant driving experience.

The Kia EV6 GT-Line Long Range variant sold in the Philippines is a front-wheel drive version with a single motor setup at the front, which delivers 229 PS of maximum power and 350 Nm of maximum torque. The vehicle is equipped with a 77 kWh lithium-ion battery, which delivers a maximum range of 528 km. This battery takes 7 hours and 20 mins for charging 10-100% with an 11 kW AC charger, 73 minutes for 10-80% using a 50 kW DC fast charger and 18 minutes for 10-80% using a 350 kW DC fast charger.

The Kia EV6 has a long list of safety features, comprising of front, side, and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree parking camera, electronic stability control, hill start assist, tyre pressure monitoring system and a suite of ADAS features. The list of ADAS on offer includes adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, lane keep assist, lane following assist, forward collision avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, safe exit assist, and driver attention warning.
