Lotus Emeya

Upon entering the Lotus Emeya, you are greeted by an abundance of premium leather finishes and niceties. It has enough room to accommodate five passengers effectively. The 900 series variants feature sophisticated-looking Quartz seats with a light grey LOTUSWEAR Performance fabric upholstery, while the 600 series trims get Jasper seats with the black version of the same fabric upholstery. Regardless of the material, this grand tourer’s seats offer top-notch ergonomics for everyone on board.

The front row is a very nice place to be in thanks to soft-touch materials and an array of cutting-edge technology. Drivers are treated to a high-tech cockpit, which consists of a 12.6-inch digital instrument panel, a 51-inch heads-up display, and a nice Alcantara steering wheel for the 900 series variants. Meanwhile, the 600 series trims get the charcoal leather with dark gunmetal version.

For entertainment and information accessibility, this luxury grand tourer comes with a 15.1-inch OLED central infotainment display that offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 5G Telematics with Over The Air updates, and Lotus Connect Core. Its infotainment is linked to a KEF and Dolby Atmos 3D surround soundscape, which delivers a very immersive sound experience.

In terms of dimensions, all variants of the Lotus Emeya are 5,139 mm in length, 2,241 mm in width with the mirrors out, and 1,459 mm in height. This hyper grand tourer has a maximum ground clearance of 166 mm.

This grand tourer flaunts a hypermodern design that exudes a mix of class and sportiness on the road. Upfront, it has a distinct, futuristic-looking facade illuminated by adaptive LED matrix headlights that give it a spider-like glare. An active grille with a black and grey contrast along with an automatic air dam add more detail to its demeanor. 

It has a luxurious two-toned silhouette accentuated by a blacked-out roof, window trims, door mirrors, and side skirts. All variants except for the base trim feature 21-inch 10-spoke diamond-turned wheels for a more premium touch, while the base 600 gets 20-inch 5-spoke aero wheels.

At night, trailing behind this vehicle is certainly enjoyable thanks to its ravishing, hypermodern back end. Its rear is illuminated by a sleek tail light bar and further enhanced by a dual-layer spoiler, a wing, and a diffuser underneath. Overall, the Lotus Emeya’s design isn’t merely style or aesthetic, but also very functional as well.

In terms of suspension, all variants of the Lotus Emeya come with the brand’s 2-chamber active air suspension system. This advanced suspension setup will allow you to confidently hit sharp turns or corners even at high speeds. In the city, it is also maneuverable and has good absorption of bumps and uneven concrete pavements. Ultimately, the Emeya is a family-friendly vehicle that offers a supple and very pleasant riding experience for everyone.

The Lotus Emeya comes in two powertrain options. First, the 900 series variants run on a dual-motor powertrain that generates a maximum power output of 675 kW (918 PS) and a maximum torque of 985 Nm. On the other hand, the 600 series trims run on a dual-motor powertrain that produces 450 kW (612 PS) of power and 710 Nm of torque. 

All variants are powered by a 102-kWh Ternary Lithium-Ion battery pack that is tuned differently, leading to different WLTP combined driving ranges. The 900 series variants offer a combined driving range of up to 485 km, while the 600 GT SE and Sport SE variants have a range of up to 580 km. If you want a higher chance of achieving a range anxiety-free cruising experience, then you should go for the base 600 variant with a combined driving range of up to 610 km. 

Using a DC fast charger, this model line’s battery pack can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 15 minutes. All variants utilize a four-wheel drivetrain. The 600 series variants come with four drive modes: Range, Tour, Sport, and Individual, while the 900 series trims also get a Track mode as an additional.

All things considered, the Lotus Emeya is a beast on the open road, for a grand tourer. Its electric motors generate a very smooth, linear power delivery, allowing you to overtake slower vehicles on free-flowing highways with ease and precision. However, one of this car’s main downsides is its efficiency. Drive it very spiritedly, and you’d see how fast its range drops. With this in mind, it can still be a reliable driver for your daily commute and a friendly companion for your shorter-distance out-of-town trips. However, for longer-distance out-of-town trips, it might be better to plan meticulously before using this as your car.

In terms of safety, the Lotus Emeya comes with two NVIDIA DRIVE Orin chips, which accurately process data from the car’s 360-degree perception system and 34 sensors, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, as well as adaptive cruise control. All of the variants except for the base 600 trim feature a 6-Piston caliper braking system, while the base trim gets the 4-Piston version.
