Recent Updates of Lotus Emira
The 2024 Lotus Emira tries to bridge the brand’s gasoline past with an all-electric future. The car sports an exotic exterior that’s inspired by the carbon-fibre-intensive Lotus Evija. The Emira uses a bonded aluminium architecture borrowed from the Evora GT. The car has an extremely lightweight construction since it’s race-focussed. The hydraulic steering may appear a little hard to some drivers. Supercars like these are meant to be self-driven. Motorsports enthusiasts will love the 2024 Lotus Emira’s performance. Lotus Emira Review 2026
The Lotus Emira was the brand’s last internal combustion engine-powered sports car before it shifted into its new era of electrification. Living up to its name–”Emira,” which means leader or commander, this two-seater sports car delivers unparalleled performance out on the open road and, at the same time, exudes one of the most dominant images of its kind. In the Philippines, the Lotus Emira is available in four variants - Base, First Edition, V6, and V6 First Edition.
Lotus Emira Interior & Features
The Lotus Emira’s cabin is arguably one of the most stylish and sophisticated of its kind. Its cabin layout features a nice contrast of colours that gives off a confidence-inspiring, motorsport feel and, to some, might look like it came straight from a fashion magazine. Its leather seats are plush and very supportive even on longer trips.
Upfront, owners are treated to a very driver-centric cockpit, which comes with a 12.3-inch TFT instrument panel, a flat-bottomed steering wheel wrapped in leather that is good-to-the-touch, and a classy gear stick for that satisfying shifting experience.
Meanwhile, for entertainment and information accessibility, all variants get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, as well as USB and AUX input. The First Edition variants feature a 10-speaker KEF Premium Audio System, which delivers world-class acoustics around the vehicle, while the base and V6 variants get the 7-speaker version.
In terms of practicality, this sports car has a small trunk space, which is very limited if you tend to bring multiple things with you wherever you go. But, on the plus side, its cabin is roomy for two for sports car standards. Additionally, it also comes with front cup holders, a bottle holder, and a central console armrest.
Emira Exterior
In terms of dimensions, the Lotus Emira measures 4,412 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,225 mm in height. This sports car has a 2,575 mm wheelbase and a 140 mm ground clearance.
The Lotus Emira’s design just screams power and dominance wherever it goes. From afar, its facade resembles some Ferrari models of today. It flaunts a very bold-looking demeanor accentuated by sleek, elongated LED headlamps. It also comes with LED DRLs, which give it a strong flare on the road.
Moreover, its side profile looks very sporty and sexy at the same time with all of its stylish character lines and well-proportioned curves. All variants come with elegant-looking 20-inch wheels with runflat tyres, enhancing its capability both on the highway and on the track.
Aside from these, its dominant, high-performance personality carries over to its rear. It features sharp-looking LED taillamps that are very pleasing to look at, especially at night. A rear spoiler also adds more layer of sportiness to its overall look. And for a more premium aura, the First Edition variants also showcase bespoke intake and exhaust systems.
Lotus Emira Ride & Handling
All variants of the Lotus Emira come with the brand’s Sport Suspension setup. Thanks to this setup, this sports car is very maneuverable in the city, even when you are passing through tight traffic or narrow streets. It can also absorb light to moderate bumps effectively, leading to a stable ride inside. But, the Emira is at its best on twisties or winding roads, offering sharp and precise handling even at high speeds. Overall, this sports car can deliver a very pleasant riding experience both inside and outside the city.
Emira Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Lotus Emira model line offers two powertrain options. First, the Base and First Edition (non-V6) variants are powered by a 2L, 16-valve, V4 engine that produces a maximum power output of 365 hp and a maximum torque of 430 Nm. These variants can go from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.4 seconds.
On the other hand, the V6 and V6 First Edition variants are powered by a 3.5L, 24-valve, V6 engine that offers 405 hp of power and 420 Nm of torque. These variants can go from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.3 seconds.
The First Edition variants run on an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission system (DCT), while the Base and V6 (Non-First Edition) variants run on six-speed manual or automatic transmission. All variants have a top speed of 290 kmph.
Regardless of the engine type, this sports car is impeccably quick off the line. Its transmission is very smooth and responsive, enhancing your overall experience out on the open road. On the highway, it can effortlessly pass through slower vehicles. In the city, if you worry about high fuel consumption and costs, then this car might not be for you. But, then again, it is a sports car geared towards high-performance, after all.
Lotus Emira Braking & Safety
In terms of safety, the Lotus Emira model line comes with front parking sensors, front impact beams, front and rear side airbags, door ajar warning, a crash sensor, tyre pressure monitoring, and a rear camera among others. This sports car comes with ventilated discs for front and rear braking. Its setup is also supported by an anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, vehicle stability control, downhill assist control, and a brake assist.
Emira Verdict
The Lotus Emira offers a sweet spot for discerning buyers who are looking for a sports car that is outstanding out on the open road, and yet remains relatively usable for everyday city use. This is a car that you should definitely try if you enjoy driving anywhere (except for off-road terrains, of course).
