Maxus T60

Maxus T60 features some good amount and good quality leather all across the cabin. Although the dash is mostly plastic material, the cabin features quite a bit of black leather on the seats, the side panels, and the center console along with red contrast stitching. The stitching matches the interior accent color, red. The cabin is pretty spacious with an ample amount of legroom at the front as well as at the rear. 

Maxus has also integrated a good deal of modern tech features and a large 10-inch infotainment system with 6 speakers all around the cabin that comes with Apple CarPlay. Although, the vehicle misses out on Android Auto. Apart from a very basic yet useful central console with two analog gauges flanking the central screen, Maxus has integrated several top-spec pickup items like a 6-ways adjustable driver’s seat, along with the push-button start with keyless entry, cruise control, steering wheel-mounted controls, a tire pressure monitoring system, a backup camera with rear parking sensors, as well as an automatic climate control system.

To begin with, the Maxus T60 is a very elegantly designed pickup that has the right touch of simplicity and aggression. The overall design is something that will catch your attention on the streets with the large chrome grille and prominent wheel arches adding to the aggressive look of the vehicle. The squarish LED projector headlamps, halogen fog lamps along with LED DRLs, add to the overall appeal of the vehicle. The rear side of the vehicle is simplistic and just like a rugged pickup should be like, without anything overdone, or something that looks bland. 

The T60 has two drive modes to choose from – Eco and Power. While the engine and the 4x4 drivetrain offer pretty decent performance, the steering feels slightly heavy and the response could have improved. Cornering may need a little effort because the center of gravity is high and the steering is not very sharp, but still, it is quite relaxed and will respond to deliberate inputs. The leaf springs in the rear work fine along with a double-wishbone suspension in the front. The pickup uses a ladder frame and is quite impressive on low-traction surfaces. 

Talking about power and performance, the Maxus T60 is powered by a 2.8-litre turbodiesel engine that makes 148 hp and 360 Nm of peak torque. While those figures may appear nominal for a midsize pickup, the power delivery and acceleration are pretty impressive when you are pressing the throttle. The 4x4 drivetrain is an added bonus you get at that price. The six-speed automatic transmission could have been improved, to be honest, but works pretty well, and there’s not much to complain about it apart from the deceleration in heavy traffic. The engine is pretty fuel-efficient as well delivering a mixed economy of 12-14 kms per litre of gas. 

The T60 comes with standard 4-wheel disc brakes, which is uncommon for a pickup at its price and has all the necessary safety features as well. Maxus has put in driver and passenger front airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution, an engine immobilizer, and ISOFIX tethers for maximum safety of the driver and passengers. 

The Maxus T60 is available in three variants which are the Maxus T60 2.8 4X4 Elite A/T, the Maxus T60 2.8 4X2 Pro A/T, and the Maxus T60 2.8 4X2 Pro M/T. Considering the price of the pickup and the features and convenience it offers, it is a pretty good and valuable package. In fact, the Maxus T60 is a great buy and the overall package is fairly decent with some top-spec features at a really affordable price.
