Honda CB1000 Hornet

For starters, the Honda CB1000 Hornet measures 2,142 mm in length, 792 mm in width, 1,087 mm in overall height, and 809 mm in seat height. This streetfighter also comes with a 1,456-mm wheelbase and a 134-mm ground clearance.

At the front, this naked bike’s fascia resembles an aggressive hornet, flanked by twin LED projector headlights that deliver a dominant flare at night. It also comes with LED signal lights for increased visibility. 

Its aggressive-looking side profile is defined by blacked-out naked elements and steel finishes that blend well with this streetfighter's sleek body paint. The CB1000 Hornet runs on 17-inch wheels. And, to add more sportiness and class to its overall silhouette, it gets a two-toned exhaust with a silver tip. Aside from that, its sporty hornet motif carries over at the back with its pointed rear end. It features a modern-looking LED tail light. 

This naked streetfighter features a 5-inch TFT instrument display with a customizable layout, which includes the speedometer, tachometer, clock, gear position, and upshift indicator. It comes with a split-type seat that delivers good support for the rider. However, the pillion seat is a bit thin and narrow, which may compromise the ride comfort of taller and larger passengers on longer trips. On the plus side, this naked bike comes with sturdy pillion footrests that can make stop-and-go traffic and long highway rides more tolerable. 

The Honda CB1000 Hornet is equipped with Showa 41mm SFF-BP USD Forks at the front and a Monoshock Damper with a Prolink Swingarm at the rear. This setup contributes to this streetfighter’s razor-sharp handling on challenging twisty roads and sharp turns. It offers tremendous grip and control both on the expressway and on the track. 

Meanwhile, in the city, it is quite agile to maneuver through crowded areas despite its hefty build. Additionally, it also absorbs bumps and other minor road imperfections pretty well. That said, the CB1000 Hornet offers a supple and very dynamic riding experience for you and your passenger. 

Powering the Honda CB1000 Hornet is a 1,000cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 4-stroke, 16-valve, 4-cylinder engine that delivers a maximum power output of 113 kW (152 hp) and a maximum torque output of 105 Nm. This streetfighter comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox. It is equipped with four selectable riding modes: Sport, Standard, Rain, and User.

This naked bike cruises through the expressway with ease. It delivers quick, smooth acceleration off the line, effortlessly overtaking slower vehicles. It also roars magnificently, turning heads whenever it passes by. You’ll also be able to upshift and downshift more seamlessly thanks to its wet, multiplate clutch, which also helps make stop-and-go traffic more tolerable. And, on top of that, it delivers respectable fuel economy for a high-displacement engine. 

In terms of braking, the Honda CB1000 Hornet comes with 310 mm double discs at the front and a 240 mm single disc at the rear. Its braking setup is supported by a dual-channel anti-lock braking system. This naked bike is also equipped with Honda Ignition Security System (HISS), which protects it from potential theft at all times.

The Honda CB1000 Hornet truly represents Honda’s proven versatility and reliability on the road. For a naked bike, it is very well-rounded, offering a mix of comfort, exhilaration, and everyday city usability. That said, it is definitely worth its asking price, in my opinion.
