Kawasaki Brusky 125 Review 2026

In 2024, the introduction of the Kawasaki Brusky 125 (a rebadged Malaysian Modenas Karisma EX 125) marked the Japanese brand’s re-entry into the Philippine scooter segment, following the discontinuation of the Curve 115 a decade ago. Equipped with user-friendly features, this scooter is designed to provide both budget-conscious commuters and delivery riders with cost-effective mobility within the city. In the Philippines, the Kawasaki Brusky 125 currently has a starting price of P77,000. This scooter is available in three colour options: Caribbean Cyan, Glorious Black, and Duchess White.

Kawasaki Brusky 125 Design

In terms of dimensions, the Kawasaki Brusky 125 measures 1,890 mm in length, 850 mm in width, 1,150 mm in overall height, and 760 mm in seat height.

The Kawasaki Brusky 125’s design underwent a refresh last year. It now features a classier and more mature look while still exuding the same energetic vibe that its previous version displayed. Its bold-looking front end is flanked by sharp LED headlights. This scooter also gets a body-coloured front fender and conventional-looking mirrors finished in black.

In terms of feature, the rider gets a sporty semi-digital meter panel with a digital fuel indicator. You also get a USB charging socket for your mobile phone. Its seat offers decent cushioning and support for both the rider and the pillion. Underneath its seat is a compartment that can accommodate a small half-face helmet and other important documents. This scooter also comes with a seat opening switch for enhanced convenience. Aside from that, it offers a fairly wide footboard, making low-speed filters more convenient and comfortable for the rider.

Going back to design. Its sporty side profile is further defined by a combination of sharp fairings and bright branding decals. The Brusky 125 runs on 14-inch alloy wheels. Similar to the front, its rear is also illuminated by a sharp tail light with integrated signal lights. Overall, the Brusky 125’s design is both stylish and highly functional at the same time.

Brusky 125 Ride & Handling

In terms of suspension, the Kawasaki Brusky 125 is equipped with a Telescopic Fork at the front and a Monoshock Swing Arm at the rear. This suspension setup offers just the right balance of softness and firmness on the road. It is light and very nimble to maneuver in the city while also delivering good absorption of small bumps and other minor road imperfections. It also handles turns or corners quite decently for its asking price. Ultimately, you and your passenger will be able to enjoy a comfortable and very agile ride with this automatic scooter.

Kawasaki Brusky 125 Engine & Fuel Consumption

The Kawasaki Brusky 125 is powered by a 125cc 4-stroke, SOHC, single-cylinder, 2-valve, fuel-injected engine that produces a maximum power output of 9.52 hp and a maximum torque output of 10 Nm. This scooter comes mated to a continuously variable transmission system.

While it may not deliver the most exciting performance in its segment, the Brusky 125 still has enough power and torque to get you to your destination on time without spending too much money. It still packs quite a nice punch when needed. However, the main highlight of its engine is its efficiency. This scooter is frugal when it comes to consuming fuel, even in the city’s mixed riding conditions (making up for its small 5.1L fuel tank capacity). That said, the Kawasaki Brusky 125 is truly a commuter-friendly motorcycle designed to deliver cost-effective mobility.

Brusky 125 Braking & Safety

The Kawasaki Brusky 125 utilizes a 220-mm disc for front braking and a drum brake for the rear. While it may not have an anti-lock braking system, this automatic scooter’s braking setup still delivers respectable stopping power by entry-level standards.

Kawasaki Brusky 125 Verdict

In my opinion, the Kawasaki Brusky 125 is a great first motorcycle option for young professionals, delivery riders, and budget-conscious buyers in general. It delivers outstanding urban agility, cost-effectiveness, and everyday city usability. That said, this automatic scooter certainly delivers a high value for money.
