Suzuki Skydrive Sport

The Suzuki Skydrive Sport is one of the most attractive-looking scooters in the segment and wears extremely peppy colours and eye-catchy graphics. The 2018 model is around 20 mm shorter on the wheelbase than the outgone version. It is 1,890 mm long and 675 mm wide. The seat height stays at 740 mm, which is quite low for females to be comfortable on it too.

The scooter runs on 80 mm front wheel while the rear one is 90 mm thick (both 14-inch). The 5-spoke alloy design is quite attractive and is given the black colour treatment. There is telescopic suspension doing the duties up front while the rear has a swingarm type unit with a single spring.

The Suzuki Skydrive Sport is a very smooth to drive scooter and does not give jolts on the gearbox at all. It is extremely light (93 kilograms only) and zippy and can zoom through the traffic at the blink of an eye. The low wheelbase helps in getting better handling and fun to ride.

The 14-inch wheels are good enough to provide stability even when you are going far beyond the 50 kmph mark. Plus, the tyres are grippy enough to hold on to the turf with ease and not throw you off even if you slow down from speed rapidly.

And with everything said already, the engine is very responsive and that is proven by the rev limit at which the peak power and torque arrive.

The Suzuki Skydrive Sport is lively from within too. It has a 113cc single cylinder engine that gets the natural air cooling feature. The motor can generate a maximum power of close to 9 hp at 8,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 8.5 Nm at 6,000 rpm. A CVT (continuously variable transmission) sends the power to the ground.

The engine has a deep thump and grunt and can send thrills to the rider upon twisting the throttle. Plus, the smooth power delivery is very welcomed.

The Suzuki Skydrive Sport has a good stopping power for its 113 cc engine. The stopping power at the front wheel is generated from a disc brake that has a good bite upon the lever being pulled. However, the rear drum unit might not solely be the most outstanding option if you are looking to bring the two-wheeler to a halt from a good speed.

Apart from just the braking, the tyres complement to the stopping power as well. This is done by the great road grip when the brake levers are pulled. The suspension is very cushiony and soft, tuned specially for city driving.

The Suzuki Skydrive Sport is a powerful scooter in its segment and is good enough to give its competitors a run for their money. At around PHP 68,000, the model is one of the most affordable ones and manages to woo one and all with its attractive graphics and eye-catchy colours.

Its primary competitor is the Honda BeAT (priced at around PHP 70,000) and the Yamaha Mio Sporty (around PHP 67,000). And while the Honda is just marginally less powerful, the engine under the hood of the Yamaha makes more than one horsepower less. This makes the Suzuki Skydrive Sport so much more preferable.
