On that note, Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPH) initially introduced the Skydrive Sport back in 2018. Since then, the model has become a common sight on local roads. 

So, what are the strengths of the Suzuki Skydrive Sport that make it appealing to buyers? Also, does it have any weaknesses? Let’s find out here.

Pros 

Affordable

One clear strength of the Suzuki Skydrive Sport is its highly accessible price. To be exact, the aforementioned model starts at a mere P72,900, making it one of the more affordable nameplates in its segment.

Nifty riding amenities

While very affordable, the Suzuki Skydrive Sport boasts a lot of amenities plenty of riders would want, such as:

• Tubeless tires
• Front disc, rear drum brakes
• Oil-damped front and rear suspension systems
• Electric and kick-starting
• Secured key shutter
• Colorful analog gauge cluster

Additionally, the model boasts a fairly large floorboard, which is helpful for carrying cargo. It also boasts a relatively low seat height of 740 millimeters and a very low curb mass of 93 kilograms. 

Peppy for its class

Despite its lightweight build, the Suzuki Skydrive Sport’s four-stroke, one-cylinder, 2-valve 112.8-cubic-centimeter (CC) engine has a peppy maximum output of 8.9 horsepower (hp) and 8.5 Newton-meters of torque. The said output figures also ensure that the Suzuki nameplate can keep pace with its closest competitors, such as the Yamaha Mio i125 and Honda BeAT.

Limited color options

The Suzuki Skydrive Sport does rock an attractive design filled with sharp edges and dramatic-looking corners; however, it gets a limited number of color options in the Philippine market. 

Specifically, it may come in Titan Black and Candy Jackal Green, Metallic Matte Stellar Blue and Metallic Matte Platinum Silver, as well as Titan Black. All three hues also appear subdued, with no bright options available. 

Final thoughts

Overall, the Suzuki Skydrive Sport offers good value to its buyers. It isn’t the most spec'd-out ride out there, but it has more than enough amenities to keep up with the competition. 

For people who are thinking about getting the Skydrive Sport, however, we encourage you to give it a thorough test drive first. It sounds good on paper, but having real-world experience with the model you are itching to buy is always good practice, after all.
