Hidilyn Diaz is awarded a brand-new Suzuki Skydrive Sport scooter

MANILA: Suzuki Philippines, Inc. has turned over a brand-new Skydrive Sport scooter to weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz as a token of appreciation for winning the country's first Olympic gold medal. The turnover was held at the Olympian's residential condominium in Quezon City.

According to an online article by veteran writer Aris Ilagan, Diaz enjoys motorcycle riding. Suzuki Philippines reached out to Diaz to show its intent to award her a brand-new Skydrive Sport scooter. After Diaz’s confirmation, Suzuki officially announced its pledge to give the athlete her first scooter in the official Facebook page of Suzuki Motorcycles Philippines.

Through a conference call during the turnover, Suzuki Philippines Sales and Marketing General Manager Jun Bulot stated, "We are one with the whole nation in celebrating Ms. Hidilyn Diaz's success at the recent summer Olympics in Tokyo. After learning that Ms. Hidilyn loves riding a motorcycle, we thought that it would be a good idea to give her a Skydrive Sport as our token of appreciation to her for giving honor and inspiration to the Filipinos. We are thankful to Ms. Hidilyn and to the whole Team HD for this opportunity."

Upon receiving her Skydrive Sport, Diaz did a quick test ride of the scooter, saying that it was easy to ride. Also present in the turnover is her training coach Julius Naranjo who also tried riding the motorcycle. The Skydrive Sport is an automatic motorcycle that is ideal for daily commute, errands, and quick getaways.

Diaz said, "Thank you po Suzuki for recognizing our efforts; thank you po for this motorcycle. Ang ganda po nung motor. Ako po mismo pumili ng kulay (Thank you Suzuki for recognizing our efforts; thank you for this motorcycle. The motorcycle looks nice. I am the one who chose the color)."
