PH-spec Honda Click 125 gets new color option with ‘Smart Edition White’ trim introduction

MANILA: Aside from the release of the Street Edition, Honda Philippines Incorporated (HPI) also launched a limited-edition option for the Click 125.

Called the Honda Click 125 Smart Edition White, this latest offering  sports a new color option for the brand’s popular nameplate while keeping its “game-changer” design concept.

Here’s what you need to know about the locally-manufactured scooter’s latest variant.

Vehicle specifications

Giving the Honda Click125 Smart Edition White a clean and confident look is its new Pearl Arctic White color. Combined with the all-LED illumination (headlight, taillight, position lights, and turn signals), the newest offering from the leading motorcycle brand in the country provides a distinct road presence.

Continuing to power the motorcycle’s Smart Edition White version is the liquid-cooled, 125 cubic-centimeter engine with Programmed Fuel Injection Enhanced Smart Power technology, which allows it to achieve 50.3 kilometers per liter (based on World Motorcycle Test Cycle standards).

Among the notable amenities  that were carried over from the standard Honda Click 125 are:

• Full digital meter
• Smart Key System
• 18- Idling Stop System
• USB-C Charger

In a statement, HPI claimed that the Click125 Smart Edition White “adds another way to experience a confident and seamless ride on the road.”

Further, the Honda Click125 Smart Edition White will commemorate the 10-millionth unit production milestone event. Expected to be seen in all Honda exclusive shops nationwide soon after the launch, the two-wheeler will only have a 20,000-unit allocation. 

Other ‘special’ editions 

Aside from the Honda Click125 Smart Edition White, which as noted will commemorate the 10-millionth unit production milestone, another special-edition model was released a few years ago. 

In 2023, the brand rolled out the Honda Click 125 50th Anniversary Limited Edition, which has an eye-catching livery that combines the colors white, blue, and red. It also sports a special 50th Anniversary decal at its fore while a 50th Anniversary script is visible from its flanks. 

The Honda Click 125 50th Anniversary Limited Edition also wears cast wheels in gunmetal wrapped in wide tubeless tires.

Locally-made powertrain 

For the unaware, the Honda Click125 uses a locally-made engine, previously sourced from Indonesia. 

It delivers up to 11 horsepower and 11 Newton-meters of torque. 

Per the local wing of the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer, the localization of engine production underscores its long-term investment in Philippine manufacturing, enhancing production flexibility while meeting rising demand for commuter motorcycles. 

“The increase in localization aims to promote flexibility,” HPI President Takeshi Kobayashi said in a previous report.

“We must expand our capability to supply the growing demand with the highest quality and innovative technology.”

In addition, the locally-produced powerplant also boosts supply chain resilience, shortens production lead times, and strengthens its contribution to the domestic manufacturing sector.
