Honda Foundation officially starts ‘Kids on Safety’ program

MANILA: Honda Foundation Incorporated (HFI), together with Tamang Ride Philippines, has officially started the “Kids on Safety” program, which seeks to impart road safety knowledge to children.

Under the Kids on Safety program, HFI donated 100 helmets to kids.The educational component of Kids on Safety is geared toward equipping kids aged 7 to 10 with road safety awareness through realistic scenarios. This course is a two-weekend activity that is underpinned by the child-friendly Tamang Ride PH Road Safety Module, which is also based on the principles and knowledge base of the Honda Safety Driving Center (HSDC) Program.
The said module also has a section dedicated to older kids called “Teen Smart,” and it is designed for those aged 16-18.
Photo by Juan Paulo PapaIn addition to the program’s safety module, HFI also donated 100 helmets to the kids. In doing so, HFI says that it will instill the “importance of discipline and helmet use, and encouraging everyone to adhere to proper safety standards from an early age.”
To note, all local subsidiaries of Honda are members of HFI. The aforementioned includes Honda Cars Philippines Incorporated (HCPI), Honda Philippines Incorporated (HPI), Honda Parts Manufacturing Corporation (HPMC), and Honda Trading Philippines Ecozone Corporation (HTPE).
Apart from its mission to educate young kids, teens, and adults on road safety, HFI has also engaged in other initiatives ranging from disaster response, environmental conservation, and establishing livelihood programs for various communities.

This year, Honda’s local arm is poised to launch the all-new Prelude. The model was already included in the Department of Energy’s (DOE) list of certified new energy vehicle (NEV) models, and it was also previewed at the 2025 Honda Fest.
No launch dates were disclosed for now, but its Philippine market specifications, per DOE’s posting, can already be viewed here.
