Sure, those are not exactly record-breaking numbers, but compared to hybrids that came out just a few years ago, the said range could give more motorists the freedom to travel longer (in between fuel stops or charging the 19.43- (Gotion NMC) or 34.46-kilowatt-hour (CATL NMC) battery.

Powering the Jaecoo J8 is a familiar formula used by most Chinese car brands, a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine and some electric motors — specifically two and three, depending on the variant.

It is still not certain whether or not Jaecoo Philippines will market the J8 as an SUV that can brave the unpaved path, but according to the information in the company’s literature, it appears that the automobile might be able to cater to light off-roading and light overlanding escapades.

The Jaecoo J8 will ride on 20-inch tires, but the 245/50 size does not reveal whether or not these are highway tires or all-terrain ones.
