Isuzu has carved a name for itself in the local automotive scene for offering utilitarian and lifestyle vehicles that lean more towards reliability and longevity. 

One of its most sought-after models in the country is the Isuzu D-Max, a pickup truck that checks the boxes in terms of dependability, style, and capability. And to help potential car buyers get to know the vehicle more, we take a look at its six available colors — which happen to represent some of its notable features. 

Namibu Orange 

Namibu Orange adds a flair of zest to the utilitarian character of the Isuzu D-Max. This hue makes it look like a fun vehicle to drive on the weekends as you or your family take on spontaneous adventures outside of the metro. 

As one might imagine, the pickup truck is well equipped to tackle on some spur-of-the-moment coffee drives down south in Tagaytay or some quick nature trip in the far eastern area of Rizal. 

Ensuring that the family has plenty of room for their belongings as well as for the pasalubongs they can buy on the way home is a spacious truck bed with a bedliner. And while we’re on the topic of the vehicle’s rear end, it has a “new cargo sail design,” which optimizes aerodynamics and cargo space. As a bonus, the new tail end also enhances the Isuzu D-Max’s overall aesthetic appeal. 

Biarritz Blue 

Blue is a color that is typically linked with calmness and serenity, and the Isuzu D-Max has several features that can help its occupants keep their cool while on the road. 

One of which is its air conditioning system. Depending on the variant, owners can get a single-zone three-dial switch A/C or a dual-zone automatic climate control unit. Ensuring those sitting on the second-row bench are kept comfortable even in hot weather is a dedicated rear air vent. 

Cables, too, can be annoying, especially when juicing up smartphones when traveling. That said, the Isuzu D-Max comes with a wireless charger to make one’s travels feel less cluttered. 

Finally, the seats are finished in either fabric or leather. While they provide different textures, both materials offer the driver and passengers decent levels of comfort for both short and long trips.

Onyx Black 

Black often relates to sportiness and performance, and the Isuzu D-Max lacks none of the two. 

Under the hood can either be the carmaker’s RZ4E (1.9-liter diesel engine) or the 4JJ3 (3.0-liter diesel mill) powerplant. These can be mated to either a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic transmission.

Based on the table above, the available powertrain options for the Isuzu D-Max in the Philippines cover a wide range of use case scenarios. 

For example, the RZ4E engine-equipped models are better suited for daily city driving with some out-of-town escapades on the weekends. On the other hand, the models that use the more powerful 4JJ3 mill can better serve those whose lifestyles include driving in upland areas and braving rough patches of roads. 

Regardless of their motoring needs, there’s definitely an Isuzu D-Max that can fit their requirements. 

When it comes to stopping power, all models rely on ventilated disc brakes (with return spring) at the fore and an auto-adjust drum brake arrangement at the rear. 

Attention is also given to the pickup truck’s suspension system, with a double wishbone coil spring and stabilizer setup implemented at the front and a semi-elliptical leaf spring arrangement at the back, used across the board. 

Islay Gray 

We usually connect the colors gray and silver to technology, so it’s only fitting to talk about the Isuzu D-Max’s safety features while we discuss this color. 

Past the automobile’s multi-functional steering wheel is an instrument cluster that can be either of the following, depending on the variant: 

• 3.5-inch monochrome display 
• Electroluminescent with a 4.2-inch multi-information display 
• Electroluminescent with a seven-inch multi-information display 

A little over to the side is an infotainment system that can keep occupants informed or engaged while traveling. Depending on the chosen variant, buyers can get the below systems: 

• Single-DIN radio 
• Nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto 
• 10.1-inch full touchscreen display with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, as well as offline navigation. 

It’s also worth pointing out that both the nine- and 10.1-inch infotainment systems have built-in clinometers, so drivers can measure angles of elevation, slope, or inclination. 

As for its audio capabilities, the Isuzu D-Max can have either a two-speaker, six-speaker, or eight-speaker system.
