MANILA: KIA Motors Corporation is one of the oldest automaker in South Korea. Kia Motors started up in June 1944, manufacturing bicycles and steel tubing. The bicycle business flourished very well in the 50’s and thereafter the automaker moved onto making trucks in 60’s. By the 70’s Kia Motors began to manufacture cars. Due to the military expansion in Korea, Kia had to focus on manufacturing trucks for the time being but the car manufacturing unit started again in late 80’s. Kia also partnered with the growing automotive giants Ford and Mazda. Later on, Kia also received some support from Hyundai Motor Company and grew consistently. Presently, Kia Motors have 32 dealerships across the nation which offers classic vehicles like Forte, Optima, Picanto, Soul, Sorento, Rio, Sportage, Carnival, K2700, and Carens.
