In 8 pictures: Kia PH launches EV3 with P1.898-M SRP

MANILA: Kia Philippines has launched the EV3.

As of its introduction, the model stands as a very strong contender in the premium compact all-electric crossover segment, as attested to by its slew of awards from global automotive bodies. 

These are the 2025 World Car of the Year award and the 2025 “Best of the Best” in the Red Dot Award: Production Design category. 

But what is the EV3 offering to prospective adopters? Let’s find out here. 

Powertrain

Propelling the Philippine-spec Kia EV3 is a single permanent-magnet synchronous motor paired with a 58.3-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery. 

At maximum, the aforementioned powertrain can generate up to 201 horsepower and 283 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. It also has a range of 511 kilometers, according to the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). 

When it comes to charging, the all-new model gets both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) modes. When using its DC charging capability with a compatible charging station (350-kilowatt charger), the EV3 can increase its battery levels from 10-80 percent in just 29 minutes. 

For ride quality and stability, the Kia EV3 gets high-performance dampers for its front MacPherson strut and multi-link rear setup. Like most EV crossovers in the market, the EV3 is a front-wheel-drive model.

Exterior

Design-wise, the Kia EV3 carries over the body appearance of its larger EV5 and EV9 siblings. 

From the front, the model wears the brand’s “Digital Tiger Face” signature look paired with the “Star Map” LED lighting concept. These consist of a vertical line of square-shaped LED main lamps outlined by an ultra-slim “T” shaped design. 

The side of the model comes with the usual crossover accouterments such as black plastic claddings and a rather tall window line. These go together with a black-colored roof and a set of 17-inch alloy wheels. The rear of the EV3, meanwhile, gets a prominent rear bumper, a prominent roof-mounted rear spoiler, and Y-shaped LED taillights. 

Size-wise, the Kia EV3 is 4,300 millimeters (mm) long, 1,850 mm wide, and 1,560 mm in height. Its wheelbase spans 2,980 mm, and it has a ground clearance of 140 mm. 

Other noteworthy exterior features available on the EV3 include roof rails, power-folding/adjustable side mirrors, a front trunk, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, and flush door handles. 

Interior

Inside the Kia EV3 is a five-seater layout equipped with leather seats, a 60:40 split-folding second row, and a dual-zone automatic climate control system. 

Handling on-board entertainment for the newly introduced nameplate is a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The said screen is connected to a six-piece speaker set. 

Topping up devices inside this Kia is easy with two wireless smartphone charging pads and five USB Type-C ports. Its audio system can also be controlled remotely, and its main display can accept voice commands. 

Finding one’s preferred driving position inside the Kia EV3 is done easily thanks to an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support and a tilt and telescopic steering column. 

Other driver-centric amenities inside the Kia EV3 include a leather steering wheel, a sliding center console tray, Smart key, electronic parking brake, push-to-start button, and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. 

Safety

Safety-wise, the Kia EV3 comes standard with front airbags, side airbags, curtain airbags, anti-lock braking, electronic stability control, hill-descent control, high beam assist, an anti-theft system, and ISOFIX child seat anchors. 

Reinforcing its basic safety kit is a suite of advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS) called the Kia Drivewise. This consists of the following: 

• Advanced smart cruise control
• Blind-spot collision avoidance
• Lane keeping assist
• Lane follow assist 
• Safe exit warning
• Forward collision-avoidance 
• Rear-view monitor
• Parking distance warning
• Autonomous emergency braking
• Driver attention warning
• Lead vehicle departure alert
• Parking collision avoidance

Price

The Kia EV3 for the Philippine market has a suggested retail price of P1.898 million. Each purchase comes with an eight-year or 160,000-kilometer (whichever comes first) battery warranty, a five-year or 160,000 km (Whichever comes first) bumper-to-bumper warranty, and a 24/7 roadside assistance package. 

Until October 31, 2026, it can be purchased at an introductory price of P1.868 million with a five-year free PMS package.
