2 PH reps for Toyota GR GT Cup Asia to race under Legion of Racers

MANILA: Luis Moreno and Enzo Ison, the two Filipino e-racers who managed to qualify for the upcoming Toyota Gazoo Racing Gran Turismo (Toyota GR GT) Asia Cup 2024, are set to enter the competition under the banner of Legion of Racers (LOR). 

To note, LOR is a Singapore-based lifestyle and entertainment brand, which focuses on e-motorsports. The entity also provides support for emerging talents in e-racing, events management, and many other services related to sim racing. 

Moreno and Ison will be joined by a formidable team under the LOR banner. This roster includes Jayden Liaw from Singapore, Moreno Pratama Yudha, and Andika Rama Maulana from Indonesia. These e-racers, like Moreno and Ison, have proven their skills by emerging as the top-rankings in their respective Toyota GR GT national finals events. 

To summarize, Luis Moreno placed first, while Enzo Ison placed second at the 2024 Toyota GR GT Philippines Cup last August 18, 2024. 

“I’m happy to have another shot in the Asia Finals in less than a couple of month’s time. Based on sport mode rankings, I believe the competition will be tougher, and I will have to try my best and push harder this year,” Moreno said. 

Yudha and Maulana, meanwhile, were the first and second-place winners at the 2024 Toyota GR GT Indonesia Cup held on August 11, 2024. 

“I am very happy with the result as we got P1 and P2 from the Indon team. 2023 was tough luck for me, but I keep moving on and pushing harder. Hopefully, we can get the best results for the next Asia finals,” said Yudha. 

Jayden Liaw, on the other hand, clinched a fifth-place finish at the Toyota GR GT Cup Singapore back on August 16. Unfortunately, fellow LOR racer Dillan Tan, who finished in second place at the e-racing series’ Indo finals, will not be able to join the GR GT Cup Asia leg. 

For the unaware, the Toyota GR GT Cup is an e-racing competition held in the digital confines of the sim racing video game Gran Turismo 7. Particularly, the Asia leg will feature national finalists who will race wheel to wheel in three races. The results of the said event will be determined by cumulative points earned through all three races. 

The upcoming Toyota GR GT Cup Asia will be held in Malaysia on October 12-13, 2024.
