2018 KTM X-Bow GT4 revealed
MANILA: The latest iteration of one of the most competent motorsports cars is finally out. Yes, the 2018 KTM X-Bow GT4 racer has been revealed with focus on improved fuel economy. Although the Austrian manufacturer has not made any major changes to the design, there are some mechanical upgradations, which results in better performance.
Some of the highlighting changes include a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a potential of delivering a maximum power of 250kW and peak torque of 700 Nm. This is further hooked to a more durable transmission that increases the service time to 10,000 kilometers from 5000 kilometers. The improved durability will be also reflected in the chassis and the suspension wishbones along with center-locking wheels needing maintenance every 20,000 kilometers.
The ECU of the car is replaced with Motec M142 engine controller and complete wiring harness. The package also includes a GT3-style traction control system, which is controlled by a more user-friendly control panel.
All these major improvements reduce the overall running cost of the car to a great extent. Though not as cheap as a family car, but, it is certainly cheap for amateur car racers. The manufacturer will be building only 15 units of the latest version and to our surprise, all are already sold. The 2018 KTM X-Bow GT4 is now priced at $233,120 (Php 11622197.60 approximately).
