2019 Subaru XV GT enters the Philippines, starts at Php 1.718 million

MANILA: Right from the preview at the 2019 Manila International Auto Show, the Filipinos have been waiting for Subaru to unleash the 2019 Subaru XV GT in the country. And guess what? Motor Image Pilipinas (MIP), who is the official distributor of Subaru cars in the country, has finally brought in the special edition of the ever so popular small-SUV. With that said, the much-awaited and highly anticipated 2019 Subaru XV GT will is now available at all the Subaru official dealerships across the Philippines.

Developed by Giken Co. Ltd and Mister Masahiko “Jack” Kobayashi, the special edition of the small-SUV is based on the standard XV. As a matter of fact, Kobayashi has been a chief designer at Subaru corporation in the past. Also, a total of 12 Subaru vehicles including the Levorg and WRX STI have been designed by Kobayashi.

The stuff that differentiates the 2019 Subaru XV GT from the standard model of the small-SUV includes a new front and rear lip, side skirts, rear spoiler, an exclusive set of 18-inch alloy wheels. On the inside of the XV GT is a special kind of leather that provides the car with a luxury touch. As a part of the update, the 2019 Subaru XV GT has also benefited from dual side-view monitor system and steering responsive headlamps.

On the mechanical front, the 2019 Subaru XV GT continues to get its juices from a 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated motor that churns out 156 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 196 Nm. The ample power is then delivered to the wheels via Subaru’s trademark Symmetrical all-wheel drive and Lineartronic CVT.

The Japanese automaker has priced the 2019 Subaru XV GT at Php 1,768,000. However, the customers who make an early purchase and get their unit from the first batch can have the special edition XV at Php 1,718,000.
