In 7 pictures: Subaru introduces all-new Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid for PH market

MANILA: Subaru’s distributor for the Philippine market, Motor Image Pilipinas Incorporated (MIPI), has debuted the Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid. 

As per its name, the model is the hybrid version of the Subaru Crosstrek. It thus joins the Subaru Forester e-Boxer Hybrid in the brand’s local lineup of electrified rides. 

So, what is the all-new Subaru e-Boxer Hybrid offering to prospective adopters?

Vehicle specifications, features

Propelling the all-new Subaru Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid is a 2.0-liter boxer-four gasoline engine paired with an electric motor. In total, this powertrain can generate up to 153 horsepower and 196 Newton-meters of torque. 

Similar to the internal combustion-only Crosstrek, the e-Boxer Hybrid version comes with the Japanese brand’s symmetrical all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. The aforementioned goes together with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). 

Per Subaru, the model was also fitted with an electric-only mode and a regenerative braking system. The said model is likewise capable of having its electric motor and combustion engine work in tandem for a more comfortable drive. 

Notably, the all-new electrified crossover utilizes the Evolved Subaru Global Platform, which is said to provide improved driving dynamics. Its Subaru Intelligent Drive, meanwhile, is able to intelligently adjust to the driver’s needs.

Appearance-wise, the model comes with the same recognizable silhouette as the regular gasoline-only version. However, it does come with a set of 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with a thick spoke design, a pair of redesigned roof rails, and "mountain range" motif non-slip sill plates.

Inside the Subaru Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid is a five-seater layout with automatic air-conditioning, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a power glass roof, and an 11.6-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a wireless smartphone charging pad. At maximum, the model can also hold up to 1,297 liters of cargo. 

Safety-wise, the Subaru Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid has the following advanced driver-assist systems: 

• Emergency Driving Stop System
• Enhanced EyeSight 4.0 Driver Assist Technology
• Adaptive Cruise Control
• Pre-Collision Braking
• Lane Centering Control
• Lane Departure Prevention

As of its launch, the Subaru Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid retails at P1.998 million. See it up close at the ongoing PIMS 2026, held at the World Trade Center Metro Manila in Pasay City until June 7, 2026.
