Electric powertrain, chassis
To ensure that would-be owners can still enjoy going off the beaten path despite the absence of the traditional combustion engine powertrain system, the Subaru Solterra XT uses two permanent magnet synchronous motors at the front and rear wheel axles.
Its front wheel motor has a maximum output of approximately 275 hp and 268 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque, while the rear wheel motor can put out some 118 horses and 169 Nm of pulling power.
According to Subaru Singapore’s literature, the Solterra XT has a top speed of 160 kph with an acceleration speed of 5.1 seconds from a standstill to 100 kph.
Range-wise, it can cover up to 436 kilometers on a single charge, which is not that bad.
Stopping power comes from four ventilated disc brakes, while suspension is comprised of a MacPherson strut at the fore and a double-wishbone type at the rear.
Thanks to a set of 20-inch wheels shod in 235/50 series tires, it can clear the ground by 180 to 211 mm.

Striking looks
The Subaru Solterra XT has a clean-looking fascia with the latticework on its lower front bumper made out of horizontal slats. Noticeable too are its claddings that take up the entirety of the fenders and occupy a large portion of the front panel.

To its sides are blacked-out outside mirrors, pillars, roof rails, and side sill garnishes. The rear wheel arches also don the chunky black claddings, but do not appear to extend all the way back.
Its wheels have a five-spoke design that measures 20 inches, as we covered briefly above.
At the back, the vehicle gets a pair of combination LED taillamps, LED rear fog lamps, and an automatic tailgate.
Packed interior
The cabin of the Subaru Solterra XT will welcome drivers with a flat-top, flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters. Past it is an LCD meter cluster that is accompanied by a 14-inch infotainment system that sends audio to a Harman/Kardon-branded sound system.

Will it make it in PH?
At the time of writing, there is no confirmation from Subaru Philippines whether or not the Solterra XT is bound for the local market.
But with the Subaru e-Outback headed for Europe, it is possible that the Solterra XT will make it here.
