MG PH donates P1-M to Bayani Scholarship Program

MANILA: Morris Garages (MG) Motor Philippines, under the management of SAIC Motor Philippines Incorporated, has donated P1 million to support the Bayani Scholarship Program. 

Through the donation, deserving scholars of the Fort Bonifacio Development Foundation Incorporated (FBDFI) - led program will have access to funds to address their daily expenses throughout college.

To note, MG Motor Philippines’ beneficiaries consist of five first-year students. These come from institutions such as Taguig City University, Institute of Creative Computer Technology, and the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. According to the company, each scholar is dedicated to completing their education despite facing financial and family-related challenges. 

“We believe that education is a powerful catalyst for change,” MG Motor Philippines President Wei Wei Zhang said. 

“Through this partnership, we hope to provide young Filipinos not only with financial support, but also with encouragement to keep pushing forward, overcome challenges, and build better futures for themselves and their families,” Zhang added. 

With this donation, MG Motor Philippines says that it is committed to its mission to “uplift communities and make a lasting impact on the lives of young Filipinos.”

The aforementioned initiative likewise shows the company’s belief that success goes hand-in-hand with corporate social responsibility.

MG Motor PH: latest updates

Apart from the abovementioned development from MG Motor Philippines, the company saw a switch-up in leadership last December 2025. Specifically, Wei Wei Zhang replaced Felix Jiang, who is set to head MG Australia. 

In the same month, MG’s local arm rolled out the all-new HS Hybrid+, which is now available locally with a price starting at P1.398 million. The said model uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline mill capable of producing up to 220 horsepower and 340 Newton-meters of torque. 

Back in November 2025, the brand also introduced the all-new TRQ-L as its first-ever pickup truck offering for the Philippine market. The midsize pickup truck has a price ranging from P1.338 million-P1.248 million.
