MG HS Hybrid

The MG HS Hybrid+’s predominantly monotone cabin looks and feels very premium for its price. There is an abundance of soft-touch materials all around, adding to the comfort levels of its interior. Its well-padded seats provide supportive cushioning and good ergonomics for all occupants. You’ll also get plenty of room in the front row and generous amounts of leg, thigh, and elbow rooms in the second row. However, the second row lacks adequate headroom for taller passengers. Although there are chunky headrests that ensure that all second row passengers are relaxed and kept in a good posture, these also limit the driver’s visibility and road orientation. But, overall, this car can effectively accommodate five passengers better than other SUVs within its price point.

There is also no shortage of technology inside the HS Hybrid+’s cabin. Drivers can accurately monitor their current driving conditions thanks to a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. They also have access to a multifunctional electronic power steering wheel and an electronic shift lever. Everyone on board can enjoy a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display that has Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, AM/FM and is linked to an 8-speaker sound system, which provides premium acoustics around the vehicle. For an added layer of functionality and practicality, this SUV is given a wireless charger and four USB ports (front: 2, rear: 2).

The MG HS Hybrid+ features a striking modern appearance that is defined by sharp character lines and well-proportioned curves all around. Its very assertive facade is enhanced by a black grille with a unique-looking pattern that has chrome accents. It sports digital matrix LED headlights that look like a dragon’s glare especially at night. It also comes with DRLs and fog lights for increased illumination and visibility. For a vehicle that is advertised as a daily family cruiser, it runs quickly and has a surprisingly impressive linear power delivery. It doesn’t overtake that effortlessly compared to other hybrid crossover SUVs, but it has enough power and torque to deliver a very enjoyable cruising experience for those who have an appetite for speed. It also has an above average fuel economy, proving its feasibility as a daily vehicle inside the city. In addition, it also has good NVH suppression, ensuring that all occupants are relaxed and unbothered by external noises.  

Safety is one of the main strengths of the MG HS Hybrid+. This SUV is equipped with the MG Pilot, which includes an adaptive cruise control, intelligent cruise assist, intelligent headlight control, active emergency braking, traffic jam assist, lane departure warning system, lane keeping assist system, emergency lane keeping road edge, a forward collision warning, and a very comprehensive blind spot information system with multiple sub-safety features. It also comes with several modern safety and security features including a 360-degree view camera. 

This car utilizes ventilated discs for front braking, while regular discs for rear braking. Its braking setup is equipped with a comprehensive electronic stability program, which involves an anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, cornering brake control, traction control system, vehicle dynamics control, and an active rollover protection. 

The MG HS Hybrid+ is very well-packed for an affordable hybrid crossover SUV. Considering its driver-friendly performance, high-tech features, and top-notch ADAS, it will not be surprising if this model will eventually sell like hotcakes similar to its cousins, the MG 5 and MG ZS.
