3 videos highlight all-new Hyundai i20 features

MANILA: Hyundai Motor has officially released three new videos that showcase state-of-the-art safety and connectivity features and improved infotainment system of its all-new i20.

The all-new Hyundai i20 is the third generation of one of the most successful models of the automobile company. It is also the first vehicle of Hyundai in Europe to feature the brand’s new "Sensuous Sportiness" identity.

The all-new i20 has obtained a wide range of safety and connectivity upgrades as compared to the previous model. The all-new i20 is said to provide a complete safety package in the B-segment and is compliant with the highest safety standards from Europe.

The three new brand videos emphasize some of the essential features of the Hyundai model. The three videos can be accessed through this link.

The first video concentrates on two of the advanced safety features of the all-new i20, namely the driver attention warning (DAW) with leading vehicle departure alert (LVDA) and the forward collision-avoidance assist (FCA).

Through the use of a front camera, the improved FCA feature helps prevent front collisions.  Whenever necessary, the system also activates the brakes independently for the prevention of collision. FCA can also now identify cyclists, cars, and pedestrians.

DAW aids to keep track of driving patterns to spot fatigued or careless driving and avoid possible accidents. The system determines various vehicle signals like the position of the vehicles in the lane, driving time, steering torque, and steering angle. When the system senses unattended driving patterns, the driver will be notified through a message and sound on the instrument display screen.

DAW operates in coordination with the LVDA feature, which is new to the i20. The LVDA warns the driver when the car ahead begins moving forward, and they do not respond quickly enough.

The second video showcases two of the advanced features of the all-new i20, namely, a central touchscreen that is 10.25 inches in measurement, and a new Bose premium sound system with eight speakers and a subwoofer. The central touchscreen is regarded as the most significant component in the segment. It handles the monitoring of navigation, visual, and audio controls.

In the second video, customers can search for points of interest (POI) through the voice command. The central touchscreen also provides split-screen functionality for multiple tasks. This enhances the 10.25-inch digital cluster dynamically, as it establishes a new connectivity environment for the driver.

The third video emphasizes two features the connectivity of the all-new i20. A wireless charging pad in the center console means that i20 drivers do not need to use a cable for the charging of their mobile phones.

Furthermore, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are now available wirelessly. Both allow customers to replicate the functionality of their Android and iOS devices on the touchscreen.
