All-new 2016 Volvo XC90 Scores 100 Percent in the Recent Euro NCAP testing

MANILA: The Euro NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) conducted some safety tests on the 2016 Volvo XC90 using standard City Safety technology. The results were outstanding as the XC90 scored 100% in crash performance and crash avoidance. The 2016 XC90 becomes the first car to top the Euro NCAP Autonomous Emergency Braking tests and Car rear-end tests.

Dr. Peter Mertens, Senior Vice President, Research & Development at Volvo Car Group said, “This is further proof that with Volvo XC90 we have developed one of the safest cars in the world. In fact, we scored one hundred percent in the Safety Assist category. From an industry perspective, Volvo Cars remain the leader in car safety innovation and miles ahead of the competition with our standard safety offer.”

The stats reveal that it's the first time in the history of Euro NCAP testing that a car scored 100% in the Safety Assist category. The 2016 XC90 is the only model to achieve maximum score in the two Autonomous Emergency Braking tests, AEB City & AEB Interurban. The XC90 is also equipped with advanced pedestrian protection feature which holds independent safety regulators.
