MANILA: Volvo Philippines, under the stewardship of Hariphil Asia Resources Incorporated (HARI), has rolled out two new models: the ES90 Ultra and EX90 Ultra battery electric vehicles (BEV).

Executive ‘electric’ sedan
The Volvo ES90 Ultra BEV is touted as an executive electric sedan that embodies Volvo’s Scandinavian design to emphasize a calm and purposeful elegance.
Outside, it boasts a clean exterior with a minimalist fascia comprised of the company’s emblem flanked by two T-shaped headlamps. Its side profile exudes grace with flush, body-colored handles, blacked-out pillars, and a set of two-tone wheels. At the back are C-shaped taillamps, the “VOLVO” script proudly sitting at the center of the boot, and a sleek rear bumper.

Further, natural light enters the cabin by way of its panoramic electrochromic roof, while noise is kept to a minimum thanks to good soundproofing.
Power comes from an 800-volt electric vehicle (EV) architecture with enhanced thermal efficiency and an estimated range of approximately 700 kilometers (km).
The Volvo ES90 Ultra BEV is the first Volvo sedan to use the said EV architecture, marking a
significant milestone in the Gothenburg-headquartered carmaker’s electrification journey.

On the other hand, the Volvo EX90 Ultra BEV is more than just an EV counterpart of the CX90.
Paving its own path, the model has earned the nod of several organizations with honors such as the World Car Awards and World Luxury Car titles, as well as being named as one of TIME Magazine’s Best Inventions for 2024.

It also gets piano black bumpers and side garnishes with flush door handles, blacked-out pillars, and two-tone wheels. At the back is a large window topped by a roof-mounted spoiler, C-shaped lights connected by a black garnish, and a sporty-looking bumper.
Inside, comfort is a priority thanks to cinema-style seats, four-zone climate control, and PM2.5 air purification. Notable too are its abundant, adventure-ready storage, which makes life on the long road a delightful possibility.
Propulsion comes from a twin-motor all-wheel drivetrain paired with a 111 kilowatt-hour high-voltage battery that makes 456 horsepower and 770 Newton-meters.
Safety is paramount
Both the Volvo ES90 Ultra and EX90 Ultra BEVs uphold the reputation the brand is known for.
The former comes with an advanced sensor suite that monitors both driver behavior and the surrounding environment. It relies on seven cameras, five radars, and 12 ultrasonic sensors to deliver comprehensive awareness of the road, obstacles, and other vehicles.
Safety technologies include lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, and navigation support.
